Upgrades will give you a boosts in certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item upgrader mod by 3. Each upgrade also boosts the random substatus.

The more modernized gear generally has a greater value for trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variation (like the eth titan weapons). Upgrades are less valuable for the latter due to the need to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrade upgrader allows players to upgrade gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be made on any kind of armor or weapons. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be used to create enchantments.

You can upgrade items your equipment at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended to visit the upgrader at least once every couple of weeks to keep your equipment up to date.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the level of the item, however, they are always cheaper than buying new gear. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items that are used to improve the quality of weapons tools, armor, and accessories. They can be purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners for a variety of currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any tool, weapon or armor. The button will show the item's next level of upgrade, in the event that there are enough materials.

Upgrade costs vary depending on the Item level upgrade slot, and the current level of the item. For instance weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with certain upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of the Flightstones or crests that are used. Once an item is upgraded to a certain amount and is degraded, it can be sold and sold back to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currencies.

Many locations have upgraders for their items which include the main island and a few outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon and the possibility of obtaining an entirely new recipe. The upgrade discount increases when more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players finish certain achievements or quests.

The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, but it will bring some changes to the process of upgrading. When a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it no longer requires Flightstones. This change is intended to allow players to get their equipment to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.

Another notable modification is that crests have one purpose, so it's important to use them wisely. It is best to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the highest-quality gear that you can find and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly relevant for items like trinkets and rings that take up several slots. The discount for the entire account will only apply when all the slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
