Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. Upgrades can also boost bonuses like crit chance and PvE Damage.

Components

Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, armor, and weapons in order to give them a stat boost or an extra effect. They can be obtained through crafting, buying from vendors or trading with other players or looting. Certain upgrades also come with special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be applied to devices that have slots. The item must be upgraded to blue level before the component can be used. Leveling
