Several studies have investigated the use of ML for detecting ADHD. The majority of these studies have relied on MRI data. Other studies have investigated the use of eye movements. Some of the benefits of these methods include the accessibility and reliability of EEG signals. However, these methods have limitations in their sensitivity and accuracy.

Researchers from Aalto University studied the eye movements of children in a game that simulates reality. This was conducted to determine if a ML algorithm could differentiate between ADHD and normal children. The results showed that a machine learning algorithm could identify ADHD children.

Another study evaluated machine learning algorithms' efficiency. The results showed that random forest algorithms have a higher percentage of robustness and lower error in predicting risk. Similar to that, a permutation test proved more accurate than random assigned labels.
