Components

Upgrade components are only available to equipment that has a slot. The item must be at least upgraded to blue level before the component can be applied. Infusions and enrichments are a specific type of upgrade component used for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment as well as the non-ascended back items. A suffix or prefix can be added to an upgrade, thereby changing the name of the item it's used on (for example, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' is changed to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players create stronger versions of that equipment that require fewer Upgrade Crystals than is required to achieve the same level of upgrade through normal methods.

A 'boost' upgrade can change the attack or defense attributes of an armored weapon or.
