Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to upgrade their weapons and gear by adding new affixes, increasing its base stats or giving additional benefits. To upgrade an item, the player needs to have it in their inventory as well as access to the kiln.

Items with weak bases, like rings, can be upgraded into stronger bases. Items with bases that are strong, such as eth Titans have little change in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to armors, weapons, trinkets, and gathering tools. They give you an attribute benefit, or extra effect, while the equipment is being used. They can be purchased from vendors, or found in loot from enemies, or obtained from chests and missions. Certain upgrades come with additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require the equipment to be above a certain level before they can be upgraded.

To upgrade an armor, weapon or other item in the game, the player will have to select it and then click on the Upgrade button in the toolbar. This will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview of the expected upgrade stats and the required component or materials.

There are three kinds of upgrade components: universal upgrades, prefix upgrades and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, which include gems, can be placed in any kind of equipment, and offer lower bonuses than upgrade components that are type-restricted. Infusions are only placed in gear that is ascended and legendary equipment are similar to gems, but offer higher bonuses and cannot be placed in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades, which can be placed in gathering tools, will add their names to the end of the name of the item they are attached to, for example adding a Glyph to an item that is a Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor will make it a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.

If a player upgrades a gathering tool, and replaces the glyphs with a different one, the old one will be returned to their inventory. If you replace another upgrade component with a glyph, it will be destroyed, with the exception for inscriptions, which can be freely swapped.

Leveling

The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some significant changes from earlier versions. Gear is now categorized in tracks and each item can only be upgraded as many times before it's "leveled out." The upgrade costs increase with each level, but the materials required for upgrades do not. This allows players to focus their efforts on a specific few items and maximize the effect of these items, instead of spreading the cost of upgrades across several pieces.

When an item is completed in this way, it is able to receive an upgrade set of components, and an increase in the probability that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is referred to as the Artisan's Energy, and it resets to 0 after failure or increases if the upgrade is successful.

After a piece has been upgraded to its maximum level, it is able to get an affix to increase its capabilities. The number of affixes that are available is determined by the item's class. For instance the rare or exclusive weapon that has a standard base will have no more than two affixes to choose from and a legendary armor will have up to eight affixes for it.

Each upgrade step will require an amount of Flightstones and crests to complete depending on the current level of the item and the slot it's in. Typically, weapons require more Flightstones to upgrade than other types of equipment.

If an item does not attain its maximum level, the NPC grants players the option to transfer it to a different character and re-infuse the item with a different set or upgrades. This process takes up to two hours and costs the same amount of materials, though it will have a lower chance of success.

To measure the height of a building, engineers will utilize a level to compare the measurement to an established reference point such as a benchmark or the ground's elevation. This method is known as a "level-loop." This involves taking readings using the level, backsighting rod, and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method helps ensure that buildings are constructed to a high level of accuracy and safety.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is a crucial aspect of the game and can significantly increase the strength of an item or damage, as well as other attributes. This can be accomplished through the item menu or pressing the Reroll button of an upgraded item upgrade. Rerolling an item can be costly and should be used sparingly.

The game allows players to recycle upgraded items, which are used to obtain Reroll tokens. These tokens can be used to upgrade either the original item or a similar item. Recyclable items have an indicator of level that indicates how much of the upgrade gauge is filled. The amount of level that has been filled is contingent on the rarity and upgrade cost of the item.

In the past, some upgrade items had priority affixes that made them easier to roll for than other. It meant that you'd get the most crucial stats to your build more often than other items. This included stats like the armor's total armour, thorns and control impaired duration reduced stats or the weapons' bonus attack speed and crit strike chance.

This was changed in the latest patch. Priority affixes were removed, and all upgrades have the identical chance of rolling each stat. This could be a positive or bad thing depending on your requirements and wants from your equipment.

Each upgraded item could be equipped with a special fixed-value bonus that boosts its power by a specific percentage. These bonuses are rolled into the usual affixes. The more you upgrade item an item, the better the chance of receiving a unique bonus.

The game also comes with several sets, which grant a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are placed on an item. This is a good method of giving an individual character more power without spending a lot of money.

Many players are known to reroll their weapons and equipment particularly in the initial stages. Rerolling can give players a faster route to becoming a strong character and allows them to climb high tiers and progress the game more quickly.

Sets

Sets are collections that can be set up differently. They can have different sizes, have none at all, or contain just one element. They can be utilized to organize data or sort information. They can also be useful in analysing patterns. Sets can be categorized in a variety of ways, including by size and shape.

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom offers an array of upgradeable set items. Certain items are worth upgrading and others aren't. Armor sets with high defense values or set bonuses are generally worth upgrading. Upgrades to weapons aren't as effective in boosting stats as their purple counterparts. This makes them less attractive to upgrade if you have many weapons or armor pieces already.

Set items can be upgraded to include special tools that are suitable for certain builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded to Exceptional Winged Helms and Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements were also increased).

Another reason to upgrade certain items is to bring them into the same level with their levels. The Immortal King Set, for instance, is a huge range of levels ranging from 29 to 75. Upgrades to lower level items can increase their defense and increase their competitiveness when it comes to damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will show the attributes of the item and the items required to upgrade item it. This will display the item's characteristics, as well as the items needed to upgrade it. To upgrade the No-mouth Face for example, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, along with 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Players can also visit the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to find out the requirements for upgrading specific items.

In general generally speaking, jewelry and weapons offer better trade value when fully upgraded than armor. Particularly for weapons with damage glyphs for spells or weapons upgrading them to gold is recommended since it will give a substantial increase in their power. It will also boost the defense value of armor with a newer appearance.
