World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can boost the value of weapons, armors and rings. They also boost extra bonuses, such as damage from PvE and crit chance.
If the weapon's upgrade template is %, it will increase an additional 3% of the previous damage for every time it's upgraded.
item upgrading, mouse click on 249, costs crests and the item's current level. The cost increases with the item's level.
Components
Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into armor, weapons, and trinkets in order to provide a stat bonus or extra effect while they're in use. These can be obtained by crafting, purchasing from vendors or trading with other players or looting. Some upgrades have special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be inserted into equipment with a slot for them. The item must have been at a minimum upgraded to blue level for a component to be inserted. Upgrade components, unlike other mods, can only be applied once. They are not able to be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and Enrichments are type of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and Ascended equipment, as well as some non-ascended items. Infusions and enrichments can be retrieved by salvaging gear from the ascended, or completing an elite task in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.
A prefix or suffix may be added to an upgrade, which alters the name of the item it is applied to (for example, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' is changed to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players create stronger versions of that equipment with less Upgrade Crystals than is required to achieve the same level of upgrade using normal methods.
A boost upgrade can change the attack or defense attributes of an armored weapon or. These upgrades can be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player completes the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanic. They can be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or buying them from the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals.
The player can get a maximum of five boost upgrades at one time. Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher-level version of the item level upgrade will appear at the time of the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to keep improving their equipment even if they're not sure of the extent to which it will increase after a future reset.
The process of upgrading an item can be costly, and it is possible that the item will eventually become obsolete or even break when the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed if the upgrade fails. This is reduced by the availability of cash shop items to double or even eliminate possibility of failure, as well as some upgrades that offer a bonus when reinserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs are upgrade parts that can be placed in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs increase the power of nodes within a radius, and include any existing affixes. Glyphs can be upgraded various ways, and we recommend upgrading them to 15 levels whenever you can.
You'll often see in the endgame that placing Glyphs is a great way to upgrade your equipment. These are the only upgrade components which can be upgraded to level 15 and give a significant boost to your power on the Paragon Board.
The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced but Glyphs are the only upgrade component that can be removed and replaced without restrictions. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and re-placed using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
Each Glyph has a specific range of values that can enhance a stat by. The value is shown when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with another Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.
Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of a Gem Store bundle or purchase the glyphs with certain tools that allow unlimited use and also during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt has the chance of dropping one of the many Glyphs and there are some rare glyphs that can be found as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.
Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs then you have to attach them to your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that will boost the stats of a specific set of nodes in a radius surrounding the Glyph. It could be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats, based on the Glyph.
The use of a Glyph can boost all nodes connected to it, so you should aim to place your Glyphs near key nodes on the Graph to maximise the impact. Druids for instance should position their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They may be able to place them near their critical damage nodes.
Leveling
The item upgrading system allows players to increase the performance of specific items by putting upgraded components inside them. This is commonly known as "upping". Each upgradeable item comes with a level, which determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded until they reach a maximum level of 385 ilvl. Each level of an item requires a different number of components to reach and the costs for upgrading increase as the item gets upgraded.
Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or on the upgrade tab in a crafting table. Each completed Upgrade Recipe earns several Technology Points. These points can be used to upgrade the item, and once enough points are earned, the upgrade will be claimed and its additional bonuses will be added to the item.
When the player upgrades a piece of equipment, the base item is replaced by an item that is new. This means that the same armor piece will become a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item upgrader mod comes with its own set bonus. This can be a downside since the item may become more expensive even if you don't need it.
The upgrades to items can be rerolled if the player has enough reroll tokens in order to do this. This causes the item to be exchanged for a brand new one, which will come with an initial level and a totally different set of bonus bonuses. This is a good option for certain items, however it's not something that should be repeated often, as it could waste a lot of resources.
Certain upgrades can increase their value, allowing players to customize their equipment. One example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an increase in power when a player repeatedly enters and leaves the water (or is able to swim like a dolphin). The item can be upgraded multiple times, increasing the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item can be extremely valuable in PvP as the best version of it could be worth between 20 and 50 times its value without being upgraded.
Requirements
Item upgrading allows players to upgrade the quality of their equippable equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by offering the appropriate items and currency to an item upgrader NPC. The upgrade of armor set pieces will also increase the defense base of that piece, while upgrading weapons will increase the damage base as well as the required strength and dexterity to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.
Each item can be upgraded up to five times except for hero equipment, which is able to be upgraded eight times. Each time you upgrade an item, it is given an opportunity to fail. The failure rate increases the farther you go beyond the maximum amount of upgrades. Failures will cause the item to revert to its original state, which will force the user to spend more materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the maximum number of upgrades.
If an item is not able to upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it gained, such as crit chance, attack damage, or other effects (such as a higher healing rate over time, or the speed of reloading). However, the player can continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.
Whenever an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied in order from lowest to highest. This means that, should a weapon gain an increase in its crit chance it will be applied prior to any increase in attack damage. A new attribute known as Slots has been added to the item's definition and the value is calculated each time an upgrade is applied.
The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is based on the rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The upgrade cost for non-premium products is equal to the base value of the upgrade. For instance, a typical equipment item may have five upgrades at a cost of 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero grade items will have an incredibly lower cost for each additional upgrade.
Premium items may have different upgrade requirements from normal equipment. For instance they might require fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. However, players will have to visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade cost mentioned above, each equipment upgrade will require an individual amount of upgrade ingredients.
