What Item Upgrade Experts Want You To Learn
Throne and Liberty Gear Upgrades
Upgrading gear increases its base stats and sometimes enhances its extras. The value of these upgrades is determined by their tiers, requirements, and the amount of random augmentations applied.
The most powerful racial Shield Razortail for instance, is frequently upgraded to enhance its lightning absorption capabilities in PvP, and/or to provide additional defenses to missile-based build in the PvM. This makes it more tradable than the non-upgraded version.
Reroll Tokens
Reroll tokens let you reroll a purchased item, such as an armor, weapon or ring. The item is swapped for a different one similar item and comes with a different set of extra bonuses. Reroll tokens are an economical method of upgrading equipment. However, they don't retain the level of the original item and any resources wasted will not be refunded.
The survivors can get tokens to reroll in many ways, including the Mistery Box and rare drops from skulled creatures. They can also be found in crates and chests, or purchase them from the stores for $150 each. Reroll tokens can be used to change an attribute on the equipment, such as increasing its damage or giving it a new stat.
Players can roll their equipment using three aspects that include physical power, magical power, and health. Physical power upgrades boost the damage caused by weapons and melee attacks while spell power improves rings and mage attacks. Health upgrades give the player an additional level of health.
There are three kinds of Reroll tokens: upgrade rare, and legendary. Each of these upgrades the item to a better quality. To create them, you need an upgrade level reroll token. Enhanced upgrades require a common item, while rare upgrades require a special or a legendary item, and legendary upgrades require three legendary items.
The marker that rerolls, unlike special tokens or markers placed on action spaces remains on the space until the next Success is rerolled. This allows you to ensure that upgrades are not wasted.
Blueprints appear in the form of envelopes at the beginning of each Preparation Phase and can be opened by grabbing them using Interact. Once they're opened they will display a complete description and an icon for the relevant appliance or ingredient. Blueprints can be exchanged to purchase a new Appliance or Ingredient in the restaurant's shop for a small amount of money.
As a result, blueprints can be moved between the Staple Pool (which is the default pool) and the Non-staple Pool during a run. This alters which blueprints the restaurant's shop offers to reroll and which are available in the Non-droppable Pool.
Growthstones
In Throne and Liberty, growth stones can be used to improve armor, weapons and other items. These are special stones which increase the level of an item by improving its stats or characteristics. These items can be obtained by visiting Equipment Enchanting NPCs in the main towns. Contract Coin Merchants will sell these stones for a cost. They are also available to players who have completed daily contracts.
To upgrade their gear, players must first find the item they want to upgrade and then click the "level up" button. The menu will be displayed that shows the item's current status and what it will be when being leveled up as well as the necessary amount of Growth Stones to achieve this. The number of Growth Stones required to upgrade an item will depend on its rarity. Most often rare (blue) weapons require more than one green Growth Stone to reach their next level, whereas rare armor requires only one blue or green Growth Stone.
After choosing the item to upgrade the user must choose the number of Growth Stones that they want to use and pay the cost. When the requirements are satisfied, the user can then click the upgrade button to apply the Growth Stones to the item. This will raise the item's level by a certain percentage. The upgrade process can take anywhere from seconds to several minutes, depending on the rarity of the item.
The upgrade process is also safe and doesn't impact the durability of the item. It's a great way for players who want to get an edge in battle, but don't want to strain their wallets. By clicking on the "transfer tab" players can transfer the experience and progression of an upgraded item to a new piece of gear.
The process of obtaining Growth Stones in Throne and Liberty can be daunting for novice players. There are several ways to obtain them. You can finish contracts and purchase them from Contract Coin Merchants, defeat Abyssal Contracts, get them from Equipment Stone Seal Book or find them in reward chests during the Ancient Arena Season. Players can also break down the higher-level Growth Stones into multiple lower-level stones.
Leveling
Leveling is a feature that allows you to increase the stats of armor and weapons. You can also upgrade trinkets and helms. It is achieved by the combination of an Best item upgrader with upgrades at the upgrade items Station, paying a fee in Happy Stars or Happy Tickets. The process will consume the upgrade item materials and grant the item an upgrade level, giving the item a boost in that area. This process can be repeated until the highest level for an item is attained.
Items that have upgraded base stats display the blue icon in their slot. Contrary to enchantments upgrade components do not stack against each other, and can only be added to a single item at a time. Furthermore each upgrade component will require a certain amount of items to be used, as well as a minimum level for the equipment.
The Upgrade Station has two slots: the first is where players can place an item to be upgraded, and the right side shows a glimpse of what the gear will look like when it reaches its next level. When a player has enough materials and has pressed the yellow arrow will initiate the upgrade process.
A piece of equipment can be upgraded a maximum of five times. Each time it is upgraded the stats of the base item will be increased by only a tiny amount. The highest level for an item is 19.
When an item reaches its maximum level, its upgrades will no longer be available for it. When a piece of equipment is upgraded to a certain track (e.g. Veteran or Explorer), upgrades to that track will have discounted prices.
Upgrade components are a type of equipment that can slot into weapons, armors trinkets, gathering tools and other trinkets to provide an additional effect or bonus when the equipment is in use. They can be purchased from vendors, looted, or obtained through questing. They can also be traded between players. Upgrade components can be replaced with new ones, however doing so will destroy the previous upgrade, with the exception of for glyphs that can be replaced and removed at any time.
Requirements
Item upgrades give players the ability to increase certain stats on weapons and armor that they currently have equipped. The requirements for upgrading an item differ based on the type of item however, you'll usually require Dilithium and a number Upgrade Tokens.
The items can be upgraded by adding upgrade components to weapons and equipment. This will give them additional effects or an increase in quality of the item. These upgrades can come from a variety of sources, such as crafting, purchasing at the Trading Post, karma vendors or looting from raids and bosses. Once an upgrade component is added to an object it isn't able to be removed or replaced. However it is possible to swap glyphs freely.
The upgrade of an item can boost its Mark Level and/or Rarity. In addition, some upgrade components have additional modifiers that can improve the Best item upgrade's stats.
The helm upgrade "Foundation of the Sun" for instance, increases the base defense and adds an additional 20% chance to block. The dps "Wildfire" on the other hand increases damage from weapons.
Upgrades can be beneficial to some items, but not because they increase stats. They are more valuable for the players if they can get a perfect roll. A perfect-rolled 200/6 500 armor set piece, for instance is highly sought-after by melee PvP communities and can be worth up to 20-50 times the non-upp’d version.
When you select an upgrade component to be inserted into an item the game will show an open window that displays the required requirements. The game will show the requirements required when you select an upgrade component to slot into an item.
If you've fulfilled the requirements for an upgrade, the game will place the item in your inventory and the progress bar will change to show how close to completing the upgrade. You can also verify the status of an upgrade by visiting any NPC that upgrades items.
