For instance, the Q5's navigation system doesn't feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology and is therefore prone to get caught up in shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate tightly packed rooms very efficiently in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera to see around corners.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot
With a sleek, circular design that looks more like a regular Roomba than the competition's boxes, this mop and robot vacuum is one of the most attractive looking models in our tests. The latest flagship model from iRobot is also the most intelligent. It has advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection and future compatibility (another company’s robot that can wash mop pads autonomously).
It's the only robotic vacuum/mop that scored an exemplary 10/10 in our evaluations due to a mix of high-tech sensors, including cameras, a structured light system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot vacuum with mop we tested that could refill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mop mops.
As with other iRobot models, the X40 is user-friendly, with an easy mobile app interface as well as integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant. The only issue is that the X40 is still a noisy unit. This could be a concern in the mornings before work or during the night when you are trying to fall asleep.
It's also quite expensive, but it's not as pricey as the Ecovacs Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra, both of which are equally capable and look better. If you're willing some more volume and some additional cost this is a capable two-in-one that should please almost everyone.

It can be used to design cleaning schedules or to create the spot-cleaning. You can also use it to rank your most filthy areas to improve performance. The app also grants access to a variety of features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.
