How to Submit a Takedown Request
To submit a formal takedown request:

- Provide all required information (see below)
- Your request will be reviewed within 48 hours
- Content will be automatically hidden pending review
- You will receive email confirmation at the address provided
Required Information
All takedown requests must include:
- Your full name and contact information
- Your relationship to the content (subject of article, copyright holder, authorized representative)
- Specific URL(s) of the content in question
- Specific text or images to be removed (exact quotes or descriptions)
- Legal basis for removal (copyright, privacy, defamation, etc.)
- Supporting evidence (court orders, copyright registrations, proof of inaccuracy)
- Good faith statement that the information provided is accurate
- Electronic signature (typing your full name)
Automated Review Process
When you submit a takedown request:
- Immediate Action: The challenged content is automatically hidden from public view
- Email Notification: Our moderation team receives an email at [email protected] containing:
- Full details of your request
- Link to approve removal (permanently removes content)
- Link to restore content (denies request and restores visibility)
- Review Timeline: Requests are reviewed within 48 hours
- Decision Notification: You receive an email with our decision
Our Review Standards
We evaluate requests based on:
- Legal merit - Does the request cite valid legal grounds?
- Specificity - Is the challenged content clearly identified?
- Evidence - Is supporting documentation provided?
- Public interest - Is the information newsworthy or historically significant?
- Accuracy - For defamation claims, is the information demonstrably false?

If your content was removed due to a takedown request and you believe the removal was improper:

Counter-notifications are reviewed within 48 hours.
Frivolous or Bad Faith Requests
CEO.wiki reserves the right to:
- Reject requests that lack legal merit
- Ignore requests from repeat filers of frivolous claims
- Publish information about bad faith takedown requests
- Pursue legal remedies for fraudulent requests under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f)
