An Easy-To-Follow Guide To Item Upgrade
WoW Upgrades - The item upgrader mod Upgrader
Upgrades will give you a boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by +3. Each upgrade also increases an unspecified substat.
The upgraded gear typically has a higher trade value as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variance (like Eth titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the requirement to roll for a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapon. However, the item that is used for the upgrade will remain in use for a long time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can be used to create Enchantments.
The upgrader can be found in every major city, and can be visited at any time to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader every couple of weeks to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.
Upgrades can cost more based on the item upgrade level, however, they are always cheaper than purchasing new equipment. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are functional items which can be used to upgrade weapons tools, armor, and accessories. They can be purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners for various currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor. The button will show the item's next level of upgrade, when there are enough materials.
The cost of upgrading varies based on the slot for the item and the current item level. For instance weapons are more expensive than bracers, or gloves. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Some upgrades give a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item is upgraded to a certain degree, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.
Item Level Upgrade upgraders can be found at many locations, including the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs offer an upgrade coupon and a possibility of obtaining the latest recipe. The upgrade discount increases with the number of items being upgraded, and can be boosted by having players complete specific achievements or quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrade upgrader at the start, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. Instead the NPCs that can be used to upgrade require a variety of means which is both an improvement but also a drawback.
In Season 3, a number of new features were added to the upgrade system. After the player has upgraded to a certain level of item upgrade for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same item level, will cost less. This applies even if those items are from another set of equipment.
The amount of Valorstones required to upgrade is reduced and the discount is account-wide. The amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is cut also, but is only available after certain milestones have been reached.
Crests
Players have several options for upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are an item that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specific and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an integral part of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System that was introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.
The first thing to note is that crests are only able to be used on equipment that is of a particular rank, and that each rank has its own requirements for its upgrade path. The most basic and straightforward upgrade path costs 15 crests, while the more complex one may require as many as 20 crests, based on the kind of gear that is being upgraded.
Players can obtain crests by finishing content at the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and engaging in outdoor activities for gear of lower tiers, dungeons or raids of any difficulty for higher-tier items, or Mythic+ dungeons or heroic raid bosses for endgame gear. These crests are then exchanged with an upgrader such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and pathways.
Utilizing these new currencies isn't that difficult however, the system introduces some modifications to the upgrade process. When a piece attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it no longer requires Flightstones. This allows players to upgrade their gear to the highest possible level on all of their characters rather than relying on seasonal loot.
It's also crucial to choose crests in a wise manner, as they only have one use. It is best to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the best gear you can find, and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is especially applicable to rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character, which can only be eligible to take advantage of the account-wide discount when all slots are full of high-quality gear.
