The upgrade of items is a crucial aspect of preparing your character. Upgrades boost damage to items and the ability to enchant.

They also provide bonuses and improvements. The Blacksmith can also sell them to you.

Players can recycle any item by pressing the upgrade button on it. Each item recycled adds a level to the gauge for upgrading.

Weapon

When an item is upgraded, it will gain an initial damage bonus and a scaling factor that can affect other stats. Some upgrade components have cosmetic effects and others provide additional benefits. It is generally advised to improve weapon damage first, followed by armour defense, then the other secondary stats that are required by your build. Armor

Item Upgrades let players enhance the base stats of specific pieces of armor, weapons, trinkets and gathering tools. These upgrades may also provide additional effects, for example, an increase in damage or cosmetic enhancement. Item Upgrades can be obtained through crafting, purchasing from NPC vendors or loot drops, or as quest rewards.

Armor can be upgraded by visiting the Armorer NPC and spending appropriate currencies. In the majority of cases, a piece of armor will be upgraded to next level after an upgrade is applied. This can be done for any type of armor, though certain types of armor cannot be upgraded in any way (such as the armor that is used as a starter in Great Sky Island).

The majority of armor upgrades boost the strength or defense of an item by only a tiny amount. Some upgrade components, however could result in significant improvements in strength or defense. This is especially true when upgrading epic items.

Some upgrades provide specific abilities that can be activated while wearing armor. These abilities can prove beneficial in combat. For instance they can increase the speed of attack or block. Some upgrades have effect that are passive and can be useful for example, decreasing damage when wearing armor or enhancing the chance of avoiding an attack.

Depending on the type of armor, upgrading an item upgrader kit may require multiple tries. For example the case of a player wanting to upgrade the strength of a Steelclash armor to Dragonscale the first attempt would result in a new piece of Dragonscale with an initial defense range of 59 and 67. The second attempt would result in a Dragonscale armor with the base defense of between 67 and 77.

At the moment, this trinket boosts the overall health benefits of drinking potions of healing, waterkins, and wells of health by X% and grants mind vision on enemies within the Y tiles. This trinket cannot be combined with the Increased Senses.

Skull Cavern is where you will find Trinkets after you have completed the Mastery Cave. You will find them when you defeat Monsters, and in chests and crates. They are not in the Mines or Volcano Dungeon.

Place the trinket in the Anvil when it needs to be upgraded. This will have a random effect on the trinket either increasing its duration or strengthening its effects. You can reuse the Trinket as many times as you'd like, but it will always have an effect that is new.

You can upgrade your Trinkets at the Alchemy Station by placing them into a Magical Catalyst. This will cost you 6 energy and boost the trinket's power by just a little.
