However, they do have several flaws that prevent them from being our top choice. For one, the Q5's navigation system does not include AI-powered obstacle avoidance and is therefore prone to become entangled in shoes and socks and can't navigate tight spaces very well in our tests. It also doesn't come with cameras that let it see the corners of the room.
Still, it's very good to consider, particularly if you're looking to save money on an Roomba from iRobot, and you have a mostly bare-floor home or office. Additionally, it's quiet and can work while you're at work or at school. It lacks the edge-to-edge bare floor vacuuming that is offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective when it comes to mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 is self-emptying cradle, however. If you're in need of it clean the mopping pad, it can be replaced with a wet one in minutes.

It also supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can even clean the floor after it vacuums, a feature that we've not seen on other robot vacuums with mop vacuum/mop combinations.
3. iRobot Roomba X40
With a sleek circular design that looks more like a normal Roomba than the competition's compact models, this robot vacuum and mop combo is among the most appealing looking in our reviews. iRobot's latest flagship model also is among the most intelligent model, with features that are cutting-edge like enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).
It's the only robotic mop or vacuum that scored a perfect 10 in our testing thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors, including a camera, structured light system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation on its own. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mops.
As with other iRobot models, the X40 is user-friendly, with an intuitive mobile app interface, and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit as well as Google Assistant. The only downside is that the X40 still a noisy unit. This can be a concern in the mornings before work, or in the evening when you're trying to sleep.
It's also quite expensive, but it's not as pricey as the Ecovacs X2 Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra, both of which are equally powerful and more attractive. If you're willing some more volume and some extra cost, this is a very efficient two-in-one device that should delight most.
iRobot L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the best robot vacuum and mop. It has a number of advanced features that will help you forget your chores. Like Ecovacs' range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that can take the care of mopping and vacuuming, with a multifunction dock that automatically empties the vacuum's dust bin, fills its water tank, washes and dries its mop pads.
The smart robot makes use of the combination of LIDAR and structured light to map out floor plans and identify obstacles, navigating more intelligently than its more expensive rivals. It also has a front-mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards however, it wasn't foolproof in our testing and was occasionally confused by power cords or other obstructions.

It's also self-sufficient with a fully-featured app, and a self emptying, washable base.
The iRobot application is designed to help you navigate the mapping process, which gathers information on your floorplan and any "no go" areas that you've marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules, plan a spot clean or to prioritize your most filthy rooms to improve performance. The app also gives access to many options, including seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.
Its shape is more rectangular than other robot vacuums, meaning it can reach corners and underneath furniture better. It has a powerful 8,000 Pascal suction and clever combs for removing pet hair. You can also organize a spot-cleaner that will thoroughly clean the area.

It also has an app that is less intuitive and has a tiny base station that doesn't double as a bin to empty.
