The 10 Scariest Things About Upgrade Item
What is an Upgrade Item in Genshin Impact?
Upgrade items are a special type of item that can ensure that Pokemon evolve. They can be obtained by spinning Pokestop discs, and sometimes as rewards for events related to evolution.
They can be slotted into weapons, armor trinkets, weapons, and gathering tools to add effects or stats. Certain upgrades also provide an extra cosmetic effect when used.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into weapons, armor and trinkets to provide an additional bonus or effect while the equipment is being utilized. They can be purchased from vendors, looted or obtained as rewards, or crafted or dropped. Upgrade components must be of a higher quality than the item they're being added to, and most require that the item have an upgrade slot to accept them. Upgrade components can be replaced with other upgrade components, except for glyphs and inscriptions which are only able to be removed or added.
The most common upgrade components are infusions, gems and enrichments. Gems can be added to any type of equipment and offer a smaller bonus than other upgrade components. Infusions and enrichments are distinct upgrade components that can only be added to non-amulet ascended gear as well as some legendary equipment. You can retrieve them from the equipment they are on using an Upgrade Extractor Device or by salvaging them using Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage tool.
Other upgrades such as glyphs and inscriptions are able to be removed or added to gather tools. They can offer a variety of bonuses that can be used to increase the gather speed or adding additional materials. Inscriptions can be used to change the name of an object. For example the sword could be changed to a 'Fiery Sword,' by adding Sword Pommel of fortitude or a Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor, by adding Rune of Minor Vigor.
Glyphs
Glyphs symbolize a concept or idea by using character symbols. A glyph could be an icon or a drawing like a flag or heart. These symbols can be used to create an entire visual language. A glyph could also have a standard coding that is used by all fonts to indicate it. This code is known as a Unicode.
A glyph is a shape that dictates which Primary Stats it can be added to and what Secondary Stats it can have added. Some glyphs include both Primary Stats and Secondary Stats bonuses while others have only one bonus. The glyphs that have both Primary and Secondary Stats will add to the total stats of the unit, while glyphs with only one Primary Stat bonus will increase the value of that stat.
Utilizing glyphs is simple. Press and hold the text insertion to open the Glyphs Panel, and then choose one of the glyphs. You can also look up a list of all available glyphs by choosing View All Glyphs. The symbols will be displayed in order according to their Unicode code. Click on the one you wish to insert.
When you create a glyph set, the file is saved alongside other InDesign preferences and is able to be shared. The glyphs are not tied to any particular document, but you can edit them by choosing Edit Glyph Set from the Glyphs panel menu. You can also specify whether the glyphs will remember their fonts when you insert them in text.
Rare glyphs are essential for your build, and you should start farming these as soon as you can. They are found in World Tier 3 Dungeons as well as Nightmare Dungeons and Helltides. They are much easier to find than the rare shards that you can obtain through crafting items and offer an improved upgrade to your gear. Additionally, the fact that they can be applied to a range of items means that you can increase the strength and durability of your equipment without spending too many shards.
