WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by +3. A random extra substat is also increased with each upgrade.

The more modernized gear generally has a more value in trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or very high stat variation (like the eth titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the need to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader kit upgrader allows players to upgrade gear to a higher Item level upgrade level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapons. The item used to upgrade the item is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be used to create the enchantments.

The upgrader is located in all major cities, and can be visited anytime to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks, to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.

The cost of upgrades will be based on the current item level of the item being upgraded but they will always be cheaper than buying new equipment from other sources. For instance upgrading a Benthic chest piece to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points, purchasing a similar piece from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase weapon, armor, tool, and accessory upgrades. They are purchased by players through item upgrader NPCs in exchange for a variety of currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor. button, which displays a preview of the item at the next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrades varies based on the slot of the item and current item level, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers for instance. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Some upgrades offer discounts on Flightstones. Once an item is upgraded to a certain amount it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.

Item upgraders can be found at many locations including the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade coupon and the possibility of getting an entirely new recipe. The discount for upgrades increases with the number of items being upgraded. It is also possible to be boosted by requiring players to complete specific achievements or complete quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at beginning, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. Instead the NPCs that can be used to upgrade require a variety of means which is both an improvement as well as a disadvantage.

In Season 3, many new features were added to the upgrade system. Once a player obtains an upgrade to a specific item level for a particular armor slot, upgrading additional items to that same item level will cost less even if they belong to another set of gear.

The amount of Valorstones required for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is account-wide. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is reduced too, but it is only available once certain milestones are reached.

Crests

When it comes to upgrading gear in WoW, players have a couple of choices. Flightstones are an item upgrades that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more specialized and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1 and are available in 4 ranks.

The first thing to be aware of is that crests are only able to be spent on equipment that is of a particular rank, and that each rank has its own requirements for upgrading. The most basic and straightforward upgrade route costs 15 crests while the more complex one requires as many as 20 crests, based on the kind of gear being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through completing content at the appropriate level. This could mean doing outdoor activities or completing dungeons and raids in all difficulties to get equipment of lower tier or Mythicbosses of raids or dungeons with heroic difficulty for endgame gear. The crests can then be exchanged with an upgrader like Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and paths.

The new currency system isn't difficult to use, however it brings some changes to the upgrade process. For instance, once an item reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This is to allow players to get their gear up to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also important to use crests wisely, as they have only one purpose. It is Best item upgrader to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the best gear you can find, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is especially applicable to items like trinkets and rings that fill several slots. The discount for the entire account is only applicable when all slots on the character are filled with high-quality gear.
