Check your robot vacuum cleaners uk's brushes regularly for tangled debris and hair. Clean them as needed. Some models will automatically empty their onboard dust bin into a larger bin at the base, which decreases the amount of fine dust released into the air.
1. Roomba Q5 pro
The Q5 Pro and its sibling, the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot mop vacuums we've test. They have motors that are top of the class and can handle up to 5,500 Pascals. As with other top iRobot models (including the top choice), they use smart mapping technology to create detailed floor plans and avoid home-based obstacles like cords and furniture legs. They also feature carpet boost, a feature that boosts the robot's performance when it spots an abundance of dirt on the carpet to get it cleaned quickly.
The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored very well in our tests on floors that were bare They are also adept at cleaning hair from dogs. However, they do have a few flaws however, which prevent them from being our top option. One of the weaknesses of the Q5 is its navigation system does not feature AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's also prone to get stuck on shoes and socks, and it couldn't navigate densely packed rooms very well in our tests. It doesn't also have a camera to see around corners.
It's still a good deal, especially if your office or home has a lot of unfinished floors and you're looking to save some money. It's also extremely quiet and can be used while you're at work or in school. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective in mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 does come with a self-emptying dock, though. If you're in need of it, the mopping pad can be swapped for an awe-inspiring one in a matter of just a few seconds.
2. iRobot Roomba X30
The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact, sleek vacuum cleaner that can also mop floors. Its quick navigation and smart cleaning maps make it quick to clean and efficient in taking on larger particles, such as pet hair. It also has strong suction and self-emptying bin. It's the most efficient robotic hoover for carpets, but it isn't as effective as some of its competitors in terms of deep cleaning.
This high-performance vacuum and mop utilizes sensor technology that can stay clear of obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the layout of your home over time to ensure cleaner and more efficient cleaning. The app allows you to set up zones and modify the cleaning schedule. It has a battery life that is similar to other models.
You can instruct the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and to extend them when in a carpeted room, which helps prevent cross-contamination. The flex arm can be utilized to reach under low-lying furnishings and along baseboards. It doesn't offer the same level of washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.
During tests during testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop to complete an entire home, and it did so with 66 percent of its battery left. It did a good cleaning job on different flooring and rooms with different flooring types including some area rug. Its obstacle detection was top-of-the-line and it swiftly eluded fake dog socks, turds, shoes and cables.
It's a little more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but offers superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empties into the base. It also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can even clean the floor after vacuuming it, something we've not seen on other robotic vacuum/mop combos.
3. IRobot Roomba X40
With an elegant, circular design that looks like a regular Roomba than the competitors' boxes, this mop and robot vacuum is among the most appealing looking in our evaluations. The newest model from iRobot happens to be its smartest and has advanced features like enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads).
It's also the only robotic vacuum/mop to score the perfect 10/10 out of 10 in our evaluations. This is due to a combination high-tech sensors, including a structured light system, camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mops.
As with other iRobot models like the X40 is easy to use, offering a simple mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit as well as Google Assistant. The only downside is that the X40 is still a loud unit. This can be a concern in the mornings before work or at night when you are trying to sleep.
It's also somewhat expensive, but it's not as expensive as Ecovacs X2 Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra Both of which are equally powerful and more attractive. This is a two-in-one vacuum that's extremely powerful however, it's going to cost you more and create more noise.
4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the line robot vacuum and mop. It has a range of advanced features that make you forget about your chores. Like Ecovacs' range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that takes care of both mopping and vacuuming. It comes with a multifunction dock that automatically empties the vacuum's trash bin, refills its water tank and washes and dry the mop pads.
The smart robot employs a combination of LIDAR and structured light to create floor plans and identify obstacles, and navigates more effectively than some of its premium rivals. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards but this wasn't 100% reliable in our tests and could be confused with obstructions or power cords.
Its vacuum has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to complete the task. It also comes with "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates how hard the vacuum works and also alters the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the home according to the degree of dirt they are.
For bigger homes it's recommended to choose a model that has zone or spot cleaning modes that let you tell the robot to clean one particular area of your house by using the app or voice controls. A stairway mode is useful if you have a number of furniture. Also a recharge and resume feature that lets your robot automatic vacuum and mop robot take over exactly where it left off is great for busy families.
iRobot RX3
The RX3 is a cleaner with more intelligence than you would expect from its price tag. It vacuums well and was able to remove 55% of debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using one pad and a reciprocating movement which is cleaner than the majority mop cleaners for robots that we've tested. It's also self-sufficient, with a fully-featured app as well as an auto vacuum and mop-emptying, washable base.
The well-designed iRobot app guides you through an initial mapping exercise that collects information about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you have marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules, or to organize a spot-clean. It can also be used to it to prioritize your dirtiest areas for greater efficiency. The app has a range of features, such as seasonal suggestions, customized mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.
It is also able to reach corners and under furniture more easily because its shape is more rectangular. It is equipped with an impressive 8000 Pascal suction, as well as sophisticated combs that remove pet hair. You can also set up a spot clean that scours a specific area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and more affordable alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It is more appealing in its design, akin to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed like cute eyes. It is capable of vacuuming, but is more prone to get caught on low thresholds and is louder than the other top robotic vacuums we've tested. It also has a less intuitive app and a tiny base station that isn't able to double as an emptying bin.
