World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to boost the gear score of an item up to 700, and then add an additional perk. Items can be upgraded by keeping them in inventory before heading to the kiln.

Certain items can be upp'd to increase their stats (like a perfectly rolled breakpoint armour used in melee PvP) while others like weapons do not vary greatly post upgrade and thus aren't worth upgrading.

Weapons

Upgrades to weapons can boost their numerical stats, such as attack damage, crit probability and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons also have a flat bonus which increases the damage they deal per second. In addition there are many weapons with an added bonus that is activated when three or more of the same weapon are equipped on a single unit. This bonus may exceed the damage that a weapon upgrade alone can do.

A weapon's upgrade costs depend on the nature of the weapon as well as its current level. For example the weapon with a +2 rating will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while a +3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a weapon will continue increase until it requires the higher level of Smithing Stones, at which point it will reset to one.

Upgraded weapons can also alter their base stats. While this is generally an excellent thing however, it could have negative consequences too. Upgrades can make items inaccessible, unless you're extremely lucky.

It is possible to upgrade armor items to increase their performance. For example, if you upgrade chests or helms this will increase the defense of its base, while gloves and belts increase their strength and dexterity. Armor also offers an option to reroll its Enhanced Defense%, meaning that it may roll back to a lower number.

The upgrade template of a weapon will show the new stats that it will gain upon upgrading along with the relative values of those stats. This means that the weapon will gain 33% attack damage when it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. However, the 3% doesn't mean that it will be hit for 3 times less often as it is an absolute statistic.

Rerolling a weapon is possible by pressing the green button in the item menu with the circling arrows. This will roll an item upgrader and alter its stats, but not reset the weapon's level or connect it to an account's status.

Armor

A few tweaks to your armor can make an enormous difference in your capacity to withstand. Certain sets can offer massive increases in resistance to curses, poison fire, magic, and other. This can make it easier to get through difficult terrains. Generally speaking, the more defense your character has, the more value you can get from each point of health you possess and it's crucial to improve your armor as often as you can.

To upgrade your armor, go to one of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four Great Fairy Fountains in the game and to unlock each one you have to complete an additional quest involving the Stable Trotters. After you've completed your main quest and the associated fountains, you can talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the menu for upgrading armor.

Each piece of armor can be upgraded up to three levels, and the amount of material and Rupees needed for each level will differ. You'll require anything from three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade the first armor piece, and anywhere between five Rubies or ten Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade the next one. The Champion Leathers, for instance can be upgraded to an increase of 5 defense rating, which will allow you to stay ahead in frigid environments with a large group of foes. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other hand, can be upgraded as high as +20 defense so that you're able to survive a battle with your friends.

It's important to note that armor cannot be upgraded the same way as weapons, so you'll have to focus on upgrading it to gain physical power if you're Warrior or Spell Power when you're a Mage. You should also save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor that you'll still wear at the end of the story, like the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you'll wear in the final boss fight, the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.

By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town, you can unlock some perks on your armor. It is generally recommended to save these upgrades for the weapon that you'll use to beat the game. For example the Longsword or Battleaxe. But it's useful to have a few upgrades to the armor on your chest and helmets so that you can escape some monsters.

Potions

Potions are liquids that, when consumed by the player, give a temporary effect for a short period of time. There are five different types of potions, each having particular effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded to enhance their effectiveness. You can also increase the effects of certain potions by adding glowstone dust and redstone.

Potion upgrades require a certain amount of XP. This can be obtained through crafting them on a crafting table or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. The upgrade price varies depending on the type of potion and the item upgrade's rarity and Mark Level.

To upgrade a potion, right-click it in your inventory. Select "Upgrade" from the menu. This will open an GUI which allows you to select the potion you want to upgrade and the amount of experience they will provide when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches up to five at once, and their XP will be added to the total XP you have.

Once a poton is upgraded, it will not degrade unless you use it again or break the bottle within the container it is stored. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will also allow you to rename it.

There were a few updates to the mechanics of potions in version 1.7.2. For instance, splash potions now have an average duration of zero,08 seconds (this is not the same as 22.5 seconds shown on the hover display for the item). The table of potion can now be made using four Wood Planks and two Glass. It can now be used in both Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions aren't compatible with cauldrons, as is the case with Java Edition. Additionally, using a potentio in a cauldron that is full drains the potion and replenishes the bottle.

There are also simmering potions made using dragon breath and splash potions. Redstone can also be added to potions that are lingering to increase their effect. The table of potions has been rearranged to appear more like the Java Edition. New potions have also been added, for instance, the potion of leaping as well as decomposition.

Trinkets

A trinket is a tiny and affordable ornament or piece of jewelry. It can also refer to a small ornament or object that serves a function but is not important such as a trinket. In certain cultures, a trinket is used to symbolize affection or friendship, specifically between family members.

Players can upgrade trinkets in addition to weapons and armor, as well as potions. These can be upgraded by visiting an upgrade items vendor and paying the appropriate amount in currency. Trinkets unlike other items which can be upgraded can be swapped at will without losing stats.

The upgrade vendors are found in major cities and the capital of each zone, as well as in in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be purchased using tokens, gold, or fragments from trinkets that are rare.

Upgrades are a cheaper alternative to purchasing a new trinket. A player can upgrade a trinket with just 12 tokens. The new trinket will have the same base ilvl as the previous one, and will include an additional upgrade bonus of 1.

Trinkets can be upgraded when they're not needed, allowing a player to increase their power and worth over time. They can be traded between players which makes them a good alternative to gold.

In general players should make upgrades to their most important items first. This usually refers to the most valuable-in-slot items for their class, then their secondaries, and finally other gear items that will not be replaced in the near future (for example rings or cloaks). When choosing which items to upgrade players should be aware of the class's preferred stats. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats for a tank player, then they should upgrade their chest, helm and shoulders.

Once they have become useless trinkets are able to be upgraded to a greater level. The new trinket comes with an additional 1% bonus. However, a re-upgrade can ruin the previous trinket until it is salvaged with the Black Lion Salvage Kit or an additional salvage tool of higher quality. This means upgrading trinkets is more expensive than other upgrades, yet is still less expensive than buying an entirely new trinket.
