WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give you boost in certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. A random additional substat is also added to every upgrade item.

The upgraded gear typically has a more value in trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variance (like the eth titan weapons). Upgrades are not as important for those with higher variance due to the requirement to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any kind of weapon or armor. However, the item that is used for the upgrade will remain in use for a long time and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enchantments.

The upgrader is located in all major cities and can be accessed anytime to upgrade your equipment. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each several weeks.

The cost of upgrades will depend on the current item level of the gear being upgraded, but will always be less expensive than purchasing new equipment from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest up to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items which can be used to upgrade weapons, tools, armor, and other items. Players can purchase them from NPCs of item upgraders for a variety of currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased it can be used on any weapon or tool with the help of button, which will display an item's preview at its next upgrade level in the event that the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the slot for the item and the current item level. For instance weapons cost more than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with some upgrades offering discounts to lower the cost of the Flightstones or crests that are used. After an item upgrade has been upgraded to a certain amount and is degraded, it can be sold and returned to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currencies.

Many locations have upgraders for their items, including the main Island and some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon and a possibility of obtaining the latest recipe. The upgrade discount increases according to the number of items being upgraded, and can be boosted by having players complete some specific achievements or complete quests.

In contrast to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II is no upgrader for items at the start of Icewind Dale. The NPCs that can assist with upgrades are only accessible through a variety of methods. This is both a benefit and an issue.

In Season 3, a number of new features were added to the upgrade system. When a player has an upgrade to a certain item level for a particular armor slot, upgrading additional items to the same level will cost less, even when they are part of a different gear set.

The amount of Valorstones required for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is available across all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is reduced also, but is only available after certain milestones are achieved.

Crests

Players have several choices when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are an item that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more special, and are used during specific item level upgrade (http://ezproxy.cityu.edu.hk) level upgrades. Crests are an important part of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System, which was introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.

First, you should know that Crests are only available to equipment of a certain rank. Each rank has distinct upgrade paths. The most basic and straightforward upgrade route costs 15 crests while the more complex one can require as much as 20 crests depending on the type of gear being upgraded.

Players can obtain crests by working through content that is of the appropriate level, which involves walking around and performing outdoor activities for gear of lower tiers, dungeons or raids of any difficulty for higher-tier items, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses and dungeons for gear that is used in the endgame. The crests can later be exchanged at an upgrader NPC like Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken, for the appropriate upgrade routes and steps.

The use of these currencies isn't too difficult however, the system does introduce some modifications to the upgrade items process. For instance, once a piece of equipment reaches the highest upgrade level of any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This change allows players to upgrade their gear to the highest possible ilvl on all of their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also important to use crests in a wise manner, as they only have one use. For instance, it's a good idea utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the best gear you have available, and then save Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you're planning on making. This is especially applicable to rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character, which can only be eligible to benefit from the discount for all accounts when all of the slots are filled with high-quality equipment.
