10 Things That Your Family Taught You About Item Upgrader
World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Item upgrades are a way to boost the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade, it may increase an item's Mark Level or Rarity, as well as boost other stats.
Each item has a track to upgrade it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a set amount.
Item Level
When an item is upgraded, its base stats improve in value. This is the sum of all the upgraded benefits (attack magic attack, attack defense). The cost of upgrading items can be high depending on the upgrader and what kind of upgrade you decide to do. This is because of how many perks have to be replaced to allow the item to be upgraded.
Item level is a commonly used measurement of power and can be seen on all item tooltips. It is also used to determine a gating condition when queueing for dungeons, raids and scenarios, and to limit the amount of PvP gear a player can wear (since PvP is capped at an lower level). The average item level is listed on the character sheet.
Utilizing the level of an item can help players compare the strength of equipment when deciding to purchase or sell. It's an excellent gauge of an item's worth and the amount of damage it will be capable of dealing with. Comparing items in the inventory of a seller is possible using the item level.
On PC, you can view the item level by pressing ALT or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will show the full item description, including its level. It can also be located by hovering an item with the mouse cursor, and then entering /itemlevel into chat.
There are a few theories on how the item level calculation is done. One theory is that the level is a number derived from a formula that determines the value of an item's stats are worth. It considers the fact that different perks have different worth and that gems in sockets increase the value of the item overall. This can lead to a calculated item's ilvl that is typically very close to Blizzards actual level of the item.
This is not the only factor that influences the level of an item. The level of the area where the item was dropped can change its stats. For instance it can increase the item's haste or crit score. This means that items that drop at higher levels will have more the ilvl than items from lower level instances.
Item Stats
Item stats are a big element in what determines the value of an item for players. The game uses a lot of them in a variety of ways to encourage players to play with a variety of weapons, and also to stop one weapon from being "the most effective." The stat mods of an weapon increase the base stats. These stat mods are then enhanced by a player's skill.
The upgrades to items add by boosting certain stats on the item. The upgrade costs are determined by the rarity of the item. For example, a grey or white item will only be upgraded once, while items with rare tiers can be upgraded many times, at higher costs.
Another method to alter the stats on an item is to use affixes. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item upgrading by the player and are available in all shapes and sizes. The affixes can do things like give the item extra damage, add a special capability to the item (such as reviving the dead or decreasing the cooldowns), or make the item unique by giving an additional name to the item.
Presently, all affixes are able to be changed by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button, which is accompanied by circles arrows. This will cost a certain amount of gold and other items. They can also be used as upgrade gauges as with other methods of rerolling.
Players can upgrade an item by specific stats, or reroll attaches. The stat ranges are determined by the item's level. However, all items will include at least one stat within the same range, unless it's an item that is unique or a God Roll from a raid boss.
This is another aspect that can be modified by adding the option to upgrade the equipment without rolling the affixes or choosing which stats to boost. However, as with the base equipment, this would have to be performed on a per-item basis, and the interface for comparing items would not display all the possible stats that were gained or lost at the same time.
Item Luck
The Luck stat of a player increases the chance of finding items and the properties that are generated by loot, and the strength of these properties. However, it does not directly affect damage or ability to upgrade item items. It merely gives players the chance to acquire better equipment earlier in the game and is therefore more valuable in early game runs as opposed to later ones, as most players prioritize more powerful weapon scaling and defenses over raw damage gains.
In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the probability of success when upgrading items with the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading, which increases with each level of the item and can be further increased through the use of an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.
Weapons, shields, and armor can be created or spawned using the Luck property, which has a default value of 40. These items can be upgraded with golden ingots, spined leather, or oak boards (depending on the material of the item) to grant an additional +40 Luck or to boost the existing Luck of an item up to 140.
Certain items, such as the Hollow-infused weapon can also be outfitted to increase the damage dealt by any skill that is able to deal damage by five percent. These items can be purchased in the shops or made using the right ingredients.
Item Failure
Item upgrades are expensive and not all upgrades will succeed. Cash shop items can be used to boost the chances of success for an upgrade or to stop players from losing their items if it is not successful.
When you upgrade item an item the success rate is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the likelihood of successfully upgrading an item. This can be increased with Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limitations on the extent to which the success rates can be improved, and the overall chance of an upgrade failing can't exceed 100%.
The success of an item upgrades is also influenced by the luck of that item. Each item has a success rate of 25%, and each item that has Luck increases the chance of success by 5%.
The item upgrade overlays are rendered above the items in the inventory. This can obscure enchantment effects and other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
