Upgrades can sometimes increase the power of a piece of gear and, sometimes, even add extras. The worth of these upgrades is determined by their tiers, requirements and the number of random augmentations used.

Survivors may acquire reroll tokens through several means, including from the Mistery Box or as rare drops from skulled creatures. You can also find them in crates and chests, or purchase them from the stores for $150 each. Reroll tokens can be used to alter an attribute of the equipment for example, increasing its damage or granting it a new stat.
Players can reroll their equipment in three attributes that include physical power, magical power, and health. Upgrades to physical power can increase the damage caused by weapons and melee attack while upgrades to spell power upgrade mage attacks and rings. Health upgrades provide the player with additional health.
Three types of rerolls tokens are available in three categories: upgrade rare and legendary. Each upgrade elevates the item to a better quality. To create them, you require a higher level reroll token. Upgrades require a standard item upgrading. Rare upgrades require an item that is unique or legendary. Legendary upgrades require three legendary pieces.

They can also be obtained by players who have completed daily contracts.
To upgrade gear, the player must first locate the item then click the "level up button". The menu will appear that shows the item's current status and what it will be when being upgraded as well as the necessary amount of Growth Stones to do so.
