Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

item upgrade (more info), commonly called "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment boosts the stats linearly.

Players can recycle six items at one time to gain a gauge for the upgraded component of each item. The cost of recycling items increases according to their rarity and level.

Upgrade components

In Guild Wars 2, an item upgrade is a way to increase the stats on your weapon and armor. This can be achieved in a variety of ways through the use of upgrade components or increasing an item's rarity or mark level. Additionally there are many items that can be reforged, which can increase their stats.

There are items that can be upgraded throughout the game. They are available in all over the world and are rewards for missions. Players can also craft them. The most common method of upgrading equipment is by making use of upgrade components, which are components that can be inserted into equipment. Most equipment comes with upgrade slots, and many require a certain level of upgrade. Certain upgrade components offer specific bonuses, while others offer general bonuses.

There are many types of upgrade components that are available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions, and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gems and enchantments can be placed on any type of equipment and offer lower bonuses than upgrades for specific equipment. Glyphs can be placed in gathering tools and provide various bonuses, ranging from increasing the speed of the item's collection to supplying additional crafting materials.

Select the item in your inventory, and then open the Upgrade window. The preview will be displayed on the right hand side of the screen. It will show the expected stats following the upgrade. If you don't possess enough of either the upgrade button will say Blocked.

The upper-right side of the screen shows the number of upgrade components required to create the specific item. The cost of an upgrade increases with the level and rarity of the item increase. However you can lower the cost by purchasing upgrades from a seller or trading them with other players.

Nearly all weapons can be upgraded with an upgrade to a prefix for example, an insignia or rune, and a lot of them can be upgraded using a suffix upgrade. These upgrades include an adjective in the name of the item upgrades, such as "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".

Glyphs

Glyphs are a way to communicate visual information. They move to grab the attention of the viewer and stimulate curiosity. The glyphs' animation mimics body language, making them even more effective at conveying a message across linguistic barriers. Glyphs also evoke a sense of familiarity in the brain, which increases retention of the message.

Each glyph can increase the value of a stat by specific amount. This is clearly displayed on the item's page when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This range is not the exact amount at the glyph can increase the stat, but rather the maximum amount by which it can increase a stat. The actual value of the glyph is determined by the tier and the quality of the item you are in awe of it.

The majority of upgrade components that are slotted into items can't be repaired or replaced without dismantling the equipment in question, with the exception of legendary equipment and upgrades. However, if you have a rune or glyph that hasn't yet been applied to your equipment, you can transfer it to a different piece of equipment by using the upgrade Glyphs context menu within the Glyphs panel. This will create a Glyph Set that includes the chosen glyph.

If you wish to remove a glyph from an item, you will need to salvage it with a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. The item on which the glyph is located will be destroyed, however the upgraded item can be retrieved using the glyph shards.

Adding a glyph to an item may cause it to be unstable, and the shards of the glyph will disappear from your inventory when you remove the item. You can also apply a glyph to your equipment to give it a bonus. Deferred Damage, for example can be used to store damage and be distributed slowly to the wearer rather than all at once. This is beneficial for players who take many hits from enemies, but do not want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens permit players to change the affixes of their equipment and weapons, and they can be obtained in a variety of ways such as in mistery boxes, as rare drops from skulled creatures, or even from killing bosses. Every reroll grants the player a random affix that is usually better than what they had prior to. Reroll tokens can be used to boost weapon stats for more damage or bonuses.

Items that have been rerolled may not appear in the item upgrade menu, however, they are still eligible to receive upgrades. By pressing the "upgrade button" you can recycle these rerolled items. This will alter the layout of the item's window and let up to six items be chosen for recycling. Recycling an item can add a small amount of points to its gauge of level. The amount is determined by the rarity of the item and also its level. Thus, items with higher levels are more valuable to recycle than items with lower levels.

In addition to reroll tokens, players can use Star Remnants and Reroll Tokens to reroll the weapon traits of an upgraded unit. Rerolls will roll a % chance for a weapon's trait. If it is higher, the weapon is upgraded. If it rolls lower, the weapon remains unchanged. Weapons can be upgraded up to three times.

Rerolling is a fantastic option to upgrade an item level upgrade. However, players should be aware that the total ilvl is diminished by the number of the rerolls required to bring it to the final ilvl. This effect of lowering is most effective with ring items and Diadems, which have no other options for raising ilvls.

The Reroll system has been criticized by players as being too expensive and it's more fair to let people pay for it with money or a food item that allows players to alter their build without spending too much time and energy. The developers have no plans to offer paid rerolls in this point in the game's development. They plan to add the ability for players to alter their race in the near future.

Leveling

There are several ways to upgrade an item. The first way to level up an item upgrade is by increasing the amount of upgrade. This increases the value of an upgrade for a stat. The second option is to boost the effect of an upgrade, which boosts damage or healing for a stat. Additionally you have the option to upgrade the base item to an upgrade type. The new item will retain its iLevel, but have the upgraded effects of the upgraded item.

It is important to remember that upgrades are not guaranteed. In most cases the Best item upgrade roll will result from glyphs, however there are also chances for higher or more special rolls. Additionally, the iLevel of the upgrade will be determined by the type of item, so when you upgrade a rare or unique item to a unique type, it will have a chance to get an iLevel that is higher.

The cost of upgrading items can be expensive, particularly when you're upgrading a piece of equipment from a standard to legendary track. The cost of upgrading an item will be contingent on the iLevel it's built upon as well as the number of levels to upgrade. Certain upgrade tracks require crests to be completed in order to move on to the next level.

If you're fortunate the upgraded item could get to the top of its upgrade track, and thus unlock an additional effect. This will give the item a significant upgrade value. The bonus effect changes with each upgrade items level. In general, the upgrade effect is increased by a number of +3.

Depending on the item's base level and its upgrade process, the iLevel for the upgraded item will also change. For example an item that has been upgraded from a unique or rare to an extraordinary item will have a chance to get the Enhanced Defense of the base type of item.
