3. IRobot Roomba X40

This mop and vacuum combination has a sleek, circular design that looks more like the regular Roomba model than the bulky models of the competitors. It's one of our most attractive looking robot vacuums. The latest flagship model from iRobot is also its smartest. It comes with advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection as well as future compatibility (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads in a self-cleaning manner).

It's also the only robot vacuum/mop to score a perfect 10 out of 10 in our tests. This is thanks to a combination high-tech sensors, including a structured lighting system, a camera and multiple lasers. It's also a bit expensive however, not as much as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally capable and better looking. This is a dual-purpose vacuum that's extremely powerful however it's more expensive and create more noise.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the high-end robot mop and vacuum. It has a range of advanced features that make you forget about your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning machine, similar to Ecovacs top-of-the-line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. And it's highly self-sufficient with a full-featured app and a self-emptying, washable base.

The well-designed iRobot app will guide you through an initial mapping run that gathers information about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you mark on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules or to set up an automatic spot-clean. You can also use it to prioritize the most soiled areas to improve performance.
