The best robot vacuum robot vacuums with mop Hoover

The best robot hoover (recent Bioguiden blog post) can vacuum and mop without needing your attention, and will leave your floors spotless. Its surprisingly affordable price and high-end features (such as dirt detection) are great features.

Be sure to examine the brushes of your robot for hair that is tangled and large debris and clean them as required. Certain models also automatically empty the onboard dustbin and deposit it in an additional bin at the bottom. This helps reduce the amount of fine dust that is released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 pro

The Q5 Pro and its sibling, the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've tested. They are equipped with top-of-the-line motors which can pull up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Like other premium iRobots (including the most powerful model), they use smart mapping to produce precise floorplans and avoid household obstacles like cords and furniture legs. They also come with carpet boost which boosts the robot's power when it spots the presence of dirt on the carpet in order to get it cleaned up quickly.

Both the Q5 and Q7 Max Series get very good scores in our floor tests that test for bare floors and are particularly effective in cleaning pet hair. However, they do have several flaws that prevent them from being our top pick. One of the weaknesses of the Q5 is that its navigation system doesn't feature AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's therefore prone to getting stuck on shoes and socks, and it couldn't navigate through rooms with a lot of people well in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera that can see around corners.

It's still a good value for those whose office or home has a lot of unfinished flooring and you're looking to save money. Additionally, it's quiet and can be used when you're at work or school. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming offered in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective when it comes to mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying dock, though. If you want to, you can swap the mopping pad for dry ones in a matter of minutes.

2. IRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact, sleek vacuum cleaner that can mop floors. Its smart cleaning maps and quick navigation make it easy to clean, and effective in tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also features strong suction and an automatic vacuum and mop bin for emptying. It's the most efficient robotic hoover for carpets, however it isn't as effective as some of its competitors in terms of deep cleaning.

This top-performing combination vacuum and mop makes use of advanced sensors to avoid obstacles and pet waste, and it also learns your home's layout over time to provide more efficient cleaning. You can change the schedule of cleaning and even customize zones with the well-designed app. It has a battery lifespan that is similar to other models.

When the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can instruct it to take off and extend its mop. This helps prevent cross-contamination. Its flex arm is also great to get under furniture with low levels and along baseboards. It's not as efficient on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

During testing, X30 Ultra was the quickest robot vacuum/mop that could complete the task of cleaning a whole home and had 66 percent of its battery remaining. It did a good cleaning job on a variety of flooring and rooms with different flooring types, including some area rug. Its obstacle detection was excellent and it stayed clear of fake dog turds, socks, shoes and bundles of cables.

It's a bit more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however, it comes with superior suction, a dustbin on board that automatically emptys into its base, and supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can clean the floor even after it has vacuumed. This is something we haven't seen before on other robot vacuum/mop combination.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

With an elegant circular design that looks more like a regular Roomba than the competitors' boxy units this robot vacuum and mop combo is among the most attractive designs in our tests. The latest model from iRobot is also the most intelligent. It has advanced features such as enhanced dirt detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads autonomously).

It's the only robotic vacuum/mop that has a perfect 10 in our evaluations due to a mix of high-tech sensors that include cameras, a structured lighting system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mop mops.

The X40 is, like the other iRobot products, is easy to use. It comes with an intuitive mobile application interface and is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only issue is that the X40 is still a loud unit. This can be a concern in the mornings before work or at night when you are trying to sleep.

It's also somewhat expensive, though it's not as pricey as the Ecovacs Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra Both of which are equally capable and better-looking. This is a dual-purpose vacuum that is very efficient however it will cost you more and make more noise.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop, with many advanced features that will let you get rid of your chores. Similar to Ecovacs the range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that takes the care of vacuuming and mopping, with a multi-function dock that automatically emptys the vacuum's dustbin, refills its water tank, washes and dry the mop pads.

The smart robot makes use of a combination of LIDAR and structured light to draw out the floor plan and detect obstacles, and navigates more effectively than its more expensive competitors. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time hazards detection however this was not 100% reliable in our tests and was sometimes confused with obstructions or power cords.

Its vacuum cleaner has an maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than sufficient to do the job. It also comes with an attribute known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts cleaning frequency for various areas of the house depending on how dirty the areas tend to be.

If you have a larger home, it's worth selecting a model with a spot or zone cleaning mode. This lets you tell the robot which area of your house needs to be cleaned with the help of an app or voice control. A stair mode can be useful if you have a lot furniture. Finally, a recharge and resume feature that lets your robot vacuum pick up right where it left off is great for busy families.

iRobot RX3

The RX3 is more sophisticated than its price suggests. It is a good vacuum cleaner and picked up 55% debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with a single pad and a reciprocating motion which is cleaner than the majority of the mop cleaners with robots that we've examined. It's also extremely self-sufficient, with a fully-featured application, and a self-emptying base that is washable.

The well-designed iRobot app will guide you through a mapping exercise that collects information about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you mark on the map. You can use it to make cleaning schedules, plan an area for cleaning or to prioritise your dirtiest rooms to ensure better performance. The app also grants access to a variety of features like seasonal suggestions, custom maps and advanced settings for your cleaning.

It is also able to reach corners and under furniture better because its shape is more rectangular. It also has strong 8,000 Pascal suction and combs with intelligent technology for pet hair. You can also create a spot-clean that scours a specific area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker, cheaper alternative to iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive style, much like Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are shaped like cute little eyes. It does a great job vacuuming, but it is more likely to be caught in low thresholds. It is also louder than other top robot vacuums we have tested. It also has an app that's not as intuitive, and a smaller base station that does not double as a bin for emptying.
