It's also prone to getting stuck on shoes and socks and couldn't navigate rooms with lots of people well in our tests. It doesn't also come with a camera to look around corners.
It's still a good value, especially if your home or office has lots of unfinished floors and you want to save some money. It's also quiet and works while you are at work or at school. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming that is available in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective when it comes to mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick very well and cannot handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does have a self-emptying dock, though. If you need to mop, the mopping pad can be changed for an awe-inspiring one in a matter of minutes.
2. IRobot Roomba X30
The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive vacuuming and mopping capabilities into an elegant, compact package. Its quick navigation and smart cleaning maps make it quick to clean and efficient in taking on larger particles, such as pet hair. It also features a powerful suction and a self-emptying bin. It's the best robot hoover for carpets, but it isn't as effective as some of its competitors in terms of deep cleaning.

It also supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It is able to clean floors even after it has vacuumed. This is a feature that we haven't seen before on other robot vacuum/mop combination.
3. IRobot Roomba X40
This mop and vacuum combination is sleek and has a circular design that appears much like a Roomba unit than the boxy models from the rivals. It's one of our most attractive looking robot vacuums. The latest model from iRobot is its most advanced and has advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can autonomously wash mop pads).
It's the only robotic mop or vacuum that scored 100% in our tests thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors that include cameras, a structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation on its own. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mops.

The vacuum has a suction capacity of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to finish the job. It also features "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the intensity at which the vac works and alters the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the home depending on the degree of dirt they tend to be.
If you have a bigger home, it is worth choosing a model that has the option of cleaning zones or spots. This allows you to instruct the robot vacuum and mop on which part of your home must be cleaned with the help of an app or voice command. If you have lots of furniture, a stairway mode is also useful. It also mops with a single pad and a rotating motion that is more efficient than most of the mop cleaners with robots that we've tested. And it's highly self-sufficient with a fully-featured app as well as a self-emptying, washable base.
