GreenPower Motor Company manufactures a complete range of heavy and medium-duty electric vehicles, which include models with lower and high floors. Their flagship vehicle is the EV Star Cab & Chassis platform, which can be used to accommodate a variety of body designs and upgrades for a variety of applications. The design of the platform is based on a clear paper that allows for the best positioning of the battery pack and a lower center-of-gravity. This results in better range/payload ratios.
The EV Star REEFERX was designed for mid-to last mile refrigerated deliveries and catering applications. The refrigerated trucks in class 4 with a single wall structure inside and a higher insulation level than conventional trucks, allows for seamless sanitation and better temperature control. They also have a longer life span. The EV Star REEFERX delivers superior cargo capacity and an industry leading payload to range ratio that is ideal for zero-emission passenger and Green Power Mobility Scooters Uk cargo transportation.
GreenPower has joined forces with Perrone Robotics to up-fit the EV Star with their TONY (To Navigate You) autonomous vehicle system. This will allow fleets to quickly change to autonomous vehicles. The AV Star will also be able to support wireless charging of 75 kW.
We were able to test drive the EV9 on an unpaved highway for several hours and found it to be simple to drive, and comfortable to drive over long distances. The EV9 can be used to block the sound of traffic and wind on the highway. It rides smoothly over bumps and ruts. The acceleration is surprisingly quick and the vehicle has adjustable regenerative brakes that allow "one pedal driving" by lifting the accelerator.
The EV9 has a wide range and can be charged in just three hours or less at home, or using any commercial charger. The driver has the option of choosing between two operating modes: eco mode and sport mode. Eco mode focuses on torque and cruise control and the sport mode is designed to maximize speed and handling. Both are a lot of fun to drive and offer a unique driving experience for anyone that has never been in an green power electric scooter vehicle before.
In addition to the EV9, GreenPower has several other electric vehicles, including a multi-purpose all-electric wheel scooter mini bus called the EV Star. The EV Star is ADA compliant and can be used as an executive shuttle, micro-transit, transit bus, vanpool or a paratransit vehicle.
GreenPower produces around 10 EV Star buses per month for the Jacksonville Transit Authority. The Jacksonville Transit Authority is replacing their older diesel vehicles fleet with 100 all-green power electric mobility scooter cars. GreenPower will increase production to meet the demands of the Biden Administration which wants to electrify all school buses in America. Their EV Star buses are the first of their kind to be Altoona tested and FMVSS-certified, Buy America compliant, and ADA compliant. This makes them eligible for federal transit grants. We will be following the AV Star as it begins its demonstration tour later this year. We will provide more details on this exciting electric vehicle.
