World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades can also boost bonuses like Crit chance and damage from PvE.

For instance a weapon that has the upgrade Item template that ends in % will gain an attack damage of 3% each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

The cost for upgrading items increases when they reach the item's current level. The cost increases with item's level.

Components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, weapons and armor in order to give them a stat boost or an extra effect. These can be obtained through crafting, buying from vendors trading, or looting. Some upgrades have special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into any equipment that has a slot to accommodate them; the item must be at the very least upgraded to blue level in order for the component to be used. In contrast to other mods components can only be used once; they cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a special type of upgrade component used for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment as well as the non-ascended back items. Infusions and enrichments can be retrieved by salvaging gear from the ascended, or by completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade may be prefixed or a suffix changing the name of the equipment to which it is applied (for instance "Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades can increase the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, allowing players create stronger versions with fewer Upgrade crystals than they would need to reach the same level using standard methods.

A boost upgrade can change the attack or defence attributes of the weapon or armor. These upgrades can be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed Mechanical. They can also be dropped by enemies while upgrading other gear or by buying them from the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals.

Each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-tier version of the item will be revealed during the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to keep upgrading their gear even if they're uncertain of how much it will improve after a future reset.

Whether a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process could be costly and there is a substantial risk that the item may become obsolete or even break if it fails. A failure to upgrade can destroy the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. This is mitigated by the availability of cash shop items to increase or even eliminate the possibility of failure, as well as a few upgrades that give an additional benefit when they are inserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade components that can be placed in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs increase the power of nodes within a radius, which includes any pre-existing affixes. Glyphs are upgraded in a variety of ways, and we suggest upgrading them to 15 levels as soon as you can.

You'll often see in the final game that placing Glyphs is the most effective method to upgrade your equipment. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded directly to level 15 and offer significant boosts to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to get higher nodes faster.

The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced, however Glyphs are the one upgrade component that can be removed and replaced without any restrictions. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires an Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and replace.

Each Glyph has a certain range of values that it can improve a statistic by. The value is displayed when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with an Glyph that is the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.

Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of a Gem Store bundle or purchase them with certain tools that are unlimited in use as well as during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt could drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs which you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

After you have acquired the desired Glyphs you will require them to be put on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that will boost the stats of a particular set of nodes within a radius around the Glyph. This will either be +40 for one of your primary stats or +25 for two of your secondary stats based on the Glyph.

The use of the Glyph will boost all the nodes that are linked to it, so you should try to place your Glyphs close to key nodes on the Graph to maximize the impact. Druids, for instance, should place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might also consider placing them near their most critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The item upgrading system allows players to improve the effectiveness of specific items by putting upgraded components in them. This is referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item has an amount that determines its upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each item upgrader kit level requires a different number of components and the cost of upgrading increase as the item upgrader kit is upgraded.

Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or found on the upgrade tab in crafting tables. Each completed Upgrade Recipe yields several Technology Points. These points can be used for upgrading an item. Once enough points are earned, you will be able to claim your upgrade and also receive the bonuses.

When the player upgrades an item, the base item is replaced with a different item of the same type. This means that the same armor piece will become a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item level upgrade will have its own set bonus. This could be a problem, as it can make the item more expensive, even if you don't need it.

Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled if the player has enough reroll tokens to be able to do this. This will cause the item to be traded for a new one, with an initial level and a completely different set of extra bonuses. This can be useful for some items, but it shouldn't be repeated often, as it can use up many resources.

Certain upgrades can boost their value, allowing players to customize their equipment. A good example of this is Dolphin's Gift, which gives a buff when the player is repeatedly in and out of the water (or does not swim as a dolphin). It is possible to upgrade it several times, each time increasing the maximum roll by a factor of 10. This item is highly useful in PvP. A well-rolled version can be worth 50 times the value of its non-upgraded version.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to boost the quality of their equippable equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets over ilvl 385 by offering the appropriate items and currency to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrading armor set pieces will also increase the base defense of that piece, while upgrading weapons will increase the base damage and required strength and dexterity to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.

All items can be upgraded a maximum of five times, except for hero gear that can be upgraded with eight upgrades. Every when you upgrade an item, it has the chance to fail. The failure rate increases the more you go beyond the maximum amount of upgrades. Failures can cause the item to revert to its initial condition, which requires the user to pay more for materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the maximum number of upgrades.

If an item isn't upgraded the experience bar in its growth bar will reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it gained, such as the chance to crit, attack damage, or additional effects (such as increased heal over time, or reloading speed). The player will be able to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.

Whenever an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied in order from lowest to highest. This means that the weapon that is upgraded receives a crit chance boost, the increase will be applied before any damage from attacks increases. Slots is a brand-new attribute that was added to item definitions. The value is recalculated every time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is determined on the rarity rating and number of upgrade slots. The cost for upgrading non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade--for instance, a standard equipment item might have 5 upgrades with a cost of 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero grade items will come with the lowest cost for each upgrade.

Premium items might require different upgrades than normal equipment. For instance they may require less sowels, but they will require more minerals and orons. However, players must visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade. Each upgrade of equipment requires different amounts of ingredients needed to upgrade, in addition to the costs listed above.
