3. iRobot Roomba X40
With a sleek circular design that looks more like a regular Roomba than the competitors' boxy units, this robot vacuum and mop combo is among the most attractive looking models in our tests. iRobot's latest flagship model also happens to be its smartest and has advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads).
It's also the only robotic automatic vacuum and mop robot/mop to score a perfect 10 out of 10 in our testing. This is due to a mix of high-tech sensors, including a structured lighting system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that can completely self-refill and empty its base station and it boasts the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads.
Like other iRobot models, the X40 is easy to use, offering an easy mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant. The only drawback is that it's still quite loud that could be a problem if you run it in the morning prior to work, or at night when you try to fall asleep.
It's also quite expensive but not as much as the Ecovacs S8 MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally capable and better looking. This is a two-in-one vacuum that's very capable however it will cost you more and create more noise.
iRobot L20 Ultra
