Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to enhance their weapons and gear with new affixes that boost its base stats or giving additional benefits. To upgrade an item, the player has to have it in their inventory and have access to the kiln.

Items with weak bases, like rings, can be upgraded into more robust bases. Items with strong bases, such as eth Titans have little change in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to armors, weapons, trinkets, and gathering tools. They can be used as an attribute bonus or extra effect, while the equipment is in use. They can be bought from vendors, or found in loot, dropped by enemies or as a reward for missions or chests. Certain upgrades come with additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require the equipment to be above a certain level before they are upgraded.

In order to upgrade a weapon or piece of armor, the player has to choose it and click on the Upgrade button on the toolbar. This will display a preview on the right side of the screen, showing what the expected upgrade stats will be and also the necessary element or material required to make that happen.

There are three kinds: universal upgrades (which include gems), prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, which are made up of gems, are able to be used in any kind of equipment, and offer lower bonuses than upgrade components that are restricted to a specific type. Infusions, which can only be placed in ascended gear or legendary equipment are similar to gems, but offer higher bonuses and cannot be placed in any other type of equipment. Suffix upgrades that can be put in gathering tools, add their names to the end of the name of the item they are attached to, for example adding a Glyph to a Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor would make it a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.

In the instance of upgrades for gathering tools, if a player replaces one glyph with a different one the old glyph will be returned to the inventory. However, replacing any other upgrade component will damage it, excluding the inscriptions that can be swapped.

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade system is different from previous versions in several fundamental ways. Gear is now divided into tracks and items can only be upgraded a certain number of times before they're "leveled out." The cost of upgrading increases with each level, but the materials required for upgrades do not. This allows players to focus their efforts on a few important items to maximize their impact instead of spreading cost of upgrades across several items.

This allows the item to receive upgraded components and a greater chance of success. This bonus is known as Artisan’s Energy and it resets to 0 if the upgrade fails or increases when the upgrade succeeds.

When a piece is upgraded to its maximum level, it will be able to receive the affixes needed to enhance its abilities. The number of affixes that are available is contingent on the type of item it is. For example an uncommon or rare weapon that has a standard base will have no more than two affixes available for it and a legendary armor will have up to eight affixes available for it.

Each upgrade will require a specific amount of Flightstones or Crests, depending on whether the item is at its current level, and in which slot it is placed in. In general, weapons will require more Flightstones to upgrade than other kinds of equipment.

If an item is not able to reach its max level, the NPC will give players the option to transfer it to another character and then re-infuse it with a different set of upgrades. This process takes up to two hours and costs the same amount of material, though it will have lower chances of success.

Engineers will employ a level to compare the height of the building against a known location, such as an existing benchmark. This process is called a "level loop." This involves taking readings using the level, backsighting rod, and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method ensures that structures are built to the highest level of accuracy and security.

Rerolling

Rerolling refers to the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is a crucial part of the game and can boost the damage, strength or other characteristics. This can be done through the item menu or pressing the Reroll button of an upgraded item. Rerolling items can be expensive and should be done sparingly.

Reroll tokens are derived by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original Best item upgrade or a comparable item. Recyclable items have a gauge that shows the level of upgrade. The amount of level that has been filled depends on the rarity and cost of upgrading of the item upgrader mod.

Prior to this, certain upgrade items were given priority affixes that made them easier to roll. This meant that you would be able to get the stats that were important most to your build more often than others. These included things like the armor's total armor, thorns, and duration reduction statistics that were controlled or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.

This has changed since the latest patch. Priority affixes are no longer required and all upgrades will have the same chance of rolling for each stat. This can be a great or a negative thing depending on your requirements and expectations from your equipment.

Each upgraded item upgrading may also be equipped with a special fixed-value, fixed-value benefit that increases its strength by a certain percentage. These bonuses are offered into the standard affixes. The more you upgrade an item, the better your chance of getting an exclusive bonus.

The game also comes with a number of sets, which grant a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are equipped on an item. This is a great way to give an individual character more power without spending a ton of money.

Many players choose to reroll their equipment and weapons, especially in the beginning stages of the game. This is because rerolling could provide a much faster route to becoming a strong character and allows them to climb higher levels and advance in the game faster.

Sets

Sets are collections of elements that can be arranged in a variety of ways. They can be of various dimensions, contain no elements at all or have a single element. They can be used to organize data or to sort information. They can also be used for analyzing patterns. Sets can be classified in various ways such as size and shape.

There are a variety of set items that can be upgraded in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Certain items are worth upgrading, others are not. Upgrades are worth it for armor sets that offer high defense values and set bonuses. However, most upgrades to weapons do not improve the item's stats much compared to their counterparts in purple. This makes them less appealing to upgrade in the event that your collection of armor and weapons pieces is already extensive.

Some set items are upgraded to take advantage of their unique procs that can be useful in certain builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded to Exceptional Winged Helms as well as Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements were also increased).

Another reason to upgrade certain items is to bring them up to the same level as their counterparts in their tiers. For example the Immortal King set has a wide range of levels, ranging from 29 to 76. Upgrades to lower level items can increase their defense and make them more competitive in terms of damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will display the item's attributes and the items required to upgrade it. The item will be displayed with its characteristics, as well as the required items to upgrade it. For example the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials and 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Players can also verify the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.

In general, weapons and armor have higher value when they are updated. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons with spells or glyphs that damage weapons. This will result in a significant increase in their performance. This will also boost the defense of armor that has an updated look.
