Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The ability to upgrade items allows players to improve their weapons and gear by adding new affixes, increasing the base stats of the item or providing additional benefits. To upgrade an item, the player needs to have it in their inventory and have access to the kiln.

Items with weak bases, like rings can be upgraded to a stronger base. Items with strong bases, like Titans from eth, have no change in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into weapons, armor, trinkets and tools for gathering, offering an added bonus or effect while the equipment is in use. They can be bought from vendors, retrieved as loot by enemies, or gotten from chests or missions. Some upgrades can have additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require the equipment to be at a certain level before they can be upgraded.

To upgrade an armor, weapon or other Best item upgrade in the game, players must select it and then click on the Upgrade button on the toolbar. The preview will appear on the right side of the screen showing what the expected upgrade stats will be and also the required component or material needed to complete the upgrade.

There are three types of upgrade components including universal upgrades, prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, like gems, are able to be put on any type of equipment. They offer a lesser bonus than upgrade components that have a specific type restriction. Infusions are jewels that can only be used in equipment that is legendary or ascended. They offer the same benefits as jewels, however they cannot be used in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades are able to be placed in gathering tools, add their name to the end of the name of the item they are attached to, for instance adding the word Glyph to the Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor will change it to a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.

If an individual upgrades a gathering tool, and then replaces the glyphs by a different one the previous one will be returned to their inventory. If you replace another upgrade component, it will be destroyed, with the exception for the inscriptions, which can be swapped freely.

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade process is different from the previous versions in a few important ways. Gear is now broken down into tracks and items can only be upgraded a specific number of times before they are "leveled out." The cost for upgrades increases with each level up however the materials required don't increase as much. This allows players to focus their efforts on a handful of important items to maximize their impact instead of spreading upgrade costs across multiple items.

When an item is finished being leveled and is leveled out, it will be capable of receiving an upgrade set of components, as well as an increase in the likelihood that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is known as the Artisan's Energy, and it will reset to zero on failure or increases when the upgrade is successful.

When a piece of equipment is upgraded to its highest level, it will be able to be given affixes that increase its features. The number of affixes that are available is determined by the item's class. For example an uncommon or unique weapon with a standard base will have only two affixes. A legend armor will have eight affixes.

Each upgrade will require a specific amount of Flightstones or Crests, based on whether the item upgrades is at its current level and what slot it is placed in. In general, weapons will require more Flightstones to upgrade than other types of equipment.

If an item does not get to its maximum level, the NPC will give the player the option to transfer it to a different character and then re-infuse it with an upgrade set that is different. This process can take up to two hours and cost the same amount of materials. However, it has a lower rate of success.

Engineers may utilize a level to measure the height of the building with a known location, such as an existing benchmark. This is known as a "level loop." It involves taking readings with the level and backsight rod, then turning the level and taking the foresight rod reading. This method guarantees that structures are built to an extremely high degree of precision and safety.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of altering the upgrade components of an item. It is a crucial aspect of the game and can dramatically enhance an item's strength, damage, or other attributes. This can be done through the menu for items or by using the Reroll button on an upgraded item. Rerolling items can be expensive and should be handled with care.

Reroll tokens are obtained by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade either the original item or a comparable item upgrades. Recyclable items have a gauge that shows the degree of upgrade. The amount of level that has been filled depends on the rarity and upgrade cost of the item upgrader.

In the past, some upgrade items were affixed with priority that made them easier to roll for than other. This meant that you'd get the most crucial stats for your build more frequently than other items. These included things like the armor's total armor, thorns and control impaired duration reduction stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.

This has changed since the last patch. Priority affixes are no longer required and all upgrades will have the same chances of rolling for all stats. This can be a good or a negative thing dependent on your needs and expectations from your equipment.

Each upgraded item can have a unique, fixed-value bonus that increases its power by a certain percentage. These bonuses are added to normal affixes. The more you upgrade your product, the better your chance of obtaining the bonus of a different kind.

The game also comes with number sets that give the player a bonus if three or four upgraded items from the set are placed on an item. This is a great method to give an individual character more power without spending a lot of money.

Many players are known to reroll their weapons and equipment, especially in the early stages. This is because rerolling can offer a quicker path to a powerful character which allows them to achieve high tiers and progress the game much more quickly.

Sets

Sets are collections that can be organized in different ways. They can have different sizes, have none at all, or have a single element. They can be used to organize data or separating information. They are also useful in analysing patterns. Sets can be classified in various ways in terms of size and shape.

There are many set items to upgrade in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Some items are worth upgrading while others aren't. Upgrades are worth it for armor sets with high defense value and set bonuses. Upgrades to weapons aren't as effective in boosting stats as their counterparts in purple. This makes them less attractive to upgrade if your collection of weapons and armor pieces is already large.

Certain set items are upgraded to meet their own unique functions which can be useful in some builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are examples of this. Both were upgraded to Exceptional Winged Helms and Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements were also increased).

Another reason for upgrading certain items is to bring them into parity with their levels. The Immortal King Set, for instance, is a huge range of levels, ranging from 29 to 75. Upgrades to lower-level items can increase their defense and increase their competitiveness when it comes to damage.

To determine if an item is worth upgrading, players should click the Upgrade button in the screen of their character. This will display the item's attributes, along with the necessary items required to upgrade it. For example the No-mouth face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials and 250 Enchanted Dust, and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Players can also go to the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to find out the requirements for upgrading specific items.

In general generally speaking, jewelry and weapons offer better trade value when fully upgraded than armor. Particularly, for weapons that feature spell/weapon damage glyphs and are upgraded to gold is recommended because it will give a substantial improvement in their stats. The armor that has a new appearance will benefit from this upgrade because its defense will increase as it goes from purple to gold.
