1. Roomba iRobot i3+ from iRobot EVO
The i3+ EVO is identical to its sibling, the i3 EVO. They differ only in that the i3+ has self-emptying capabilities. The i3+ is a good option for those who want a fully automated, hands-off cleaning experience, but are willing to manually empty the dustbin of the robot once it gets full.
Both robots do well cleaning up surface debris from carpets and hard floors and they are very good robot vacuum in maneuvering around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software makes a smart maps of your home that help the i3+ navigate and clean up efficiently. The i3+ doesn't have obstacle avoidance capabilities like the i7+ or any other top-rated robots that we test. It could get stuck on power cords or socks and have difficulty navigating between different surfaces like carpet and hardwood.
iRobot suggests that you clean the area in which the i3+ EVO vacuums before using it. This includes getting rid of any toys or other items it might come across. Also, keep the dustbin and filters free of dirt to prevent them from getting blocked. If the i3+ EVO's internal bin is full or its battery is empty, it returns to its docking station, automatically emptying its trash into the station's dust bin and then resumes cleaning the area where it began. The battery's life span is approximately an hour and a half of constant use. It takes three hours to fully charge.
2. iRobot Roomba i7+
The iRobot i7+ is an excellent model from iRobot's flagship line and is packed with the most recent features. It's self-charging and self-navigating. the most important feature of all -- it comes with a self-emptying dustbin that eliminates one of the primary sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.
The Roomba I7+ is able to map rooms more efficiently with Imprint Smart Mapping. It also integrates with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and it can control your robot through the app or by voice.
In our tests, the i7+ was quicker and more maneuverable than our runner-up and the eufy RoboVac G30, and it took large pieces of pet hair from all surface kinds including carpeting. The biggest benefit over the eufy the dust bin is self-emptying which removes a major source of maintenance and lowers the cost of maintenance.
We were also awestruck by the i7+'s compatibility with amazon robot vacuum Alexa and Google Assistant AI services that we used to instruct the robot to begin, stop or pause its cleaning sessions and to move around the room and vacuum a specific space. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ to these services. After connecting we were able to give the i7+ voice commands, such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options to manage i7+ settings and evaluating the performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
In a world filled with vacuums with cords that look like minivans or buses, this small Dyson model is a sports car. It is powerful enough to replace a stand-up vacuum in a majority of homes, yet it is also small enough to fit on a bookcase or coffee table.
The V10 is powered with a 7-cell energy-dense Lithium-ion battery, which produces energy that lasts for 60 minutes. The sophisticated whole-machine filter system is able to trap allergens and then lets cleaner air into your home. Its cleaning head is specially designed and drives bristles made of nylon that are stiff into carpet to collect large dust and crumbs. It has three suction modes to meet the task that is being completed. It quickly converts from handheld vacuum to floor vacuum, and then back to floor.
The model also comes with an accessory dock that can charge to 100% in 3.5 hours and offers easy access to two attachments and an wand clip. This is a huge improvement over older Dysons that require a lengthy charge and are difficult to store.
The V10's biggest drawback is its limited run time. As CR's tests show, its marketing claims of up to 60 minutes are not true. This is a common battery-powered vacuum's run time. This is still enough to vacuum the majority of a typical-sized home however, it's not enough to clean every spot (though a second run-through usually will suffice). That's not to say this model doesn't have its advantages: It's lighter and mobile than the older cordless Dysons and its vacuuming efficiency is better on carpets with low pile.
4. iRobot Roomba 694"
The 694 is a basic robotic vacuum that's an excellent choice for those who don't have a lot of money to invest in the latest model of robot. It's capable of sucking up a variety of types of debris and sizes during our testing, and it often passes over the same areas multiple times to get a really thorough clean. Its flat front allows it to reach corners and the edges of walls.
Its navigation system is smart and uses iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate your home, but it isn't equipped with the mapping capability of more sophisticated models such as our top choices, the i3+ EVO and j7+ series. It is prone to getting stuck on phone cords or furniture and will often run out of power before returning to its base.
The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in many ways, as it has fewer components that require regular cleaning and is equipped with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, has lower costs for recurring maintenance, has more advanced automation capabilities and does a better job maneuvering itself. It also has a larger dustbin and charges faster.
The sleek RoboVac X8 has a superior battery life than the Roomba 694. It also comes with physical boundaries strips that can be controlled with your smartphone's voice assistance. It is also more robust, has a larger motor, and can perform better on floors with bare or low-pile.

This was disappointing. It's also more expensive than some of the other models we've tested which could be a deterrent for certain shoppers.

This feature allows you to monitor your children or pets while you are away. The filter and dustbin are washable to make cleanup quick and easy.
