World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

Upgrades to items allow players to boost the gear score of an item upgrader kit to 700 and also add a final perk. Items can be upgraded by having them in inventory before heading to the kiln.

Certain items are worth upgrading due to their unique stats. (For example, a perfectly roll breakpoint armor is used in melee PvP). Other items, like weapons don't really change after an upgrade and therefore aren't worth it.

Weapons

Upgrades to weapons can improve their numerical stats, like attack damage, crit chance, and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons also have a flat bonus that increases their damage per second. Many weapons also have a fixed bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are placed in a unit. In some instances, this bonus could amount to more than the amount of damage that a weapon can sustain by itself.

The cost of upgrading a weapon's capabilities is contingent on the rarity of the weapon and its current level. For example, an +2 weapon will require two standard Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a weapon will increase until it needs an upgrade to a higher level of Smithing Stones. At that point it will reset to one.

Upgrading weapons will also reroll their base stats. While this is usually an excellent thing however, it could have negative consequences too. For items that are only used in a certain build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs for instance) upgrading them could render them useless unless you get a lucky roll.

Items of armor can also be upgraded to boost their effectiveness. This will increase the defense base of a helm or chest while belts and gloves will increase their required strength and agility. Armor has a rerolling feature for its Enhanced Defense%. This means that it is able to reroll down to a lower value.

The upgrade template for a weapon shows the new stats that it will gain when upgraded in addition to their respective values. This means that a change from an 8 attack-damage sword to an 11-attack-damage sword will result in a weapon receiving 33% attack damage. However the 3% does not mean that it will be hit for 3 fewer times because it's an absolute statistic.

Rerolling a weapon is also possible by pressing the green button within the item menu using the arrows that are circling. The item upgrader mod will be rerolled and alter its stats, but it will not reset the weapon's level or tie it to the account status.

Armor

A few armor upgrades can make a huge difference to your survivability. Certain sets provide massive boosts to poison or curse, fire or magic resistance, which can make the journey through difficult terrain a breeze. In general, the greater defense you have for your character, the greater health you'll gain from each point. Therefore, it is recommended to upgrade your armor.

To upgrade your armor, go to any of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four Great Fairy Fountains available in the game and to unlock each one you must complete a side quest that involves the Stable Trotters. After you've completed the main side quest and have completed the fountain that corresponds, you can then contact any Great Fairy to open up the armor upgrading menu.

The amount of materials needed to upgrade each piece of armor will differ. In general, you'll need at anything from three to five Red Chuchu Jellies and ten Rupees for the first upgrade, and then anywhere from five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns for each subsequent one. For example, the Champion Leathers can be upgraded to +5 defense, allowing you to keep up with a good-sized group of enemies in most cold climates, and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded all the way to +20 defense, granting the protection needed to survive the full-on assault with a few of your friends.

Note that armor can't be upgraded in the same manner as weapons, so you'll have to focus on enhancing it to increase physical power if you're a Warrior or Spell Power when you're a Mage. It's also worth saving your armor upgrades for the armor you'll wear at the end of the game, such as the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield, or the helmet you'll wear for the final boss battle and the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.

You can also gain perks for your armor by giving the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. You'll generally want to save these upgrades for the weapon you'll be using to win the game. For example, the Longsword or Battleaxe. However, it's beneficial to have some upgrades for the helmets and chest armor so that you can get around a few monsters.

Potions

Potions are liquids that when consumed by the player, provide the player with a temporary effect. There are five types of potions, each with a specific set of effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded to improve their level of effectiveness. You can also increase the effects of certain potions by adding redstone dust and glowstone dust.

Potion upgrades require a certain amount XP. This can be earned by making them on a table, or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. The price of upgrades varies based on the type of potion and the item's rarity and Mark Level.

To upgrade a potion to the next level, right-click on it in your inventory and select the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This opens an GUI where you can choose the potions you wish to upgrade and the amount of XP they will give you when upgraded. Upgrading potions can be done in batches of up to five at a single time, and the XP they earn will be added to your current XP count.

Once a poton is upgraded in quality, it will not deteriorate in the event that you make use of it again or break the bottle within the container it is kept. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will also allow you to rename it.

Version 1.7.2 introduced a few modifications to the mechanics of potions. Splash potions for instance, now have a duration that is 0:08 instead of 22.5 seconds shown on the item hover display. The table for potion can now be constructed using four Wood Planks and two Glass. This allows it to be used by players in Survival and Bedrock. In contrast to the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions are not able to be used in cauldrons. The same applies to using a potion in an empty cauldron. This will draw out the potion and refill the bottle.

Finally, there are simmering potions that are made with dragon breath and splash potions. Similar to lingering potions, the effect can be extended by adding redstone to it. The potion table has been rearranged to look more like the Java Edition. New potions have also been added such as the potion of leaping and decomposition.

Trinkets

A trinket is an ornament that is small and inexpensive or piece of jewelry. It can also refer to a small ornament or object that serves a purpose, but isn't important as a trinket. In some cultures, a trinket is a way to show affection or friendship between family members.

In addition to weapons, armor and potions, players can upgrade their trinkets. These can be upgraded by visiting an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate currency. Unlike other item upgrades trinkets are able to be swapped out at will without losing their stats.

Upgrade vendors can be found at the capitals of each zone, and in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are offered with tokens, gold or fragments of a rare trinket.

Upgrading a trinket is an economical alternative to buying new ones. It is possible to upgrade the player for as little as 12 tokens. The new trinket will have the same base ilvl of the older one, and come with an additional upgrade bonus of 1.

When the old Trinkets are not usable, they can be upgraded. This allows players to increase their power and value with time. They can also be traded between players, making them an extremely popular alternative to gold.

In general players should make upgrades to their top-priority items first. This means that the most-important slot items for each class are upgraded first before their secondary gear and other pieces of equipment they won't replace in the near future (such as an earring or a cloak). Players should also consider their class's preferred stats when selecting which items to upgrade. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats for a tank player and they want to upgrade their chest, helm, and shoulders.

Once they have become useless trinkets can be upgraded to a greater level. The new trinket has an additional 1% bonus. Re-upgrading will destroy the trinket unless it can be saved using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a salvage tool. Upgrades to trinkets can be more expensive than other upgrades but still less expensive than buying a new one.
