Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

The process of upgrading an item, often called "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment results in a linear increase in a given stat.

Players can recycle up to six items at a time in order to gain an indicator of the level of the item's upgraded components. The cost of recycling items increases with their rarity and item level.

Upgrade components

An item upgrade in Guild Wars 2 is a process that can boost the stats of your armor and weapons. This can be achieved through various methods, including using upgrade components as well as upgrading an item's mark level or rarity. Many items can also be reforged in order to increase their stats.

Upgradeable items can be found throughout the game, both around the world and as rewards for missions. Players can also craft them. The main way to upgrade item equipment is through the use of upgrade components, which are the items that can be inserted into equipment. Most equipment has slots to upgrade and some require a specific level of upgrade. Some upgrade components provide specific bonuses, while others give an overall bonus.

There are a variety of upgrade components in the game, including universal upgrades, inscriptions and jewels. Universal upgrades, such as gems and enchantments, are able to be placed in any kind of equipment and provide smaller bonuses than those that are equipment-type specific. Glyphs are only available in gathering tools. They offer a variety of bonuses, ranging from boosting the speed of an item's gathering to providing additional crafting materials.

Select the item in your inventory, and then open the Upgrade window. The window will show a preview on the right side of the screen, showing what the expected stats will be after the upgrade, along with any required components or materials. The Upgrade button at the bottom will be labeled as blocked if you don't have enough of or.

The upper-right corner shows the number of upgrade components required to create a particular item upgrader kit. The cost of upgrading increases with the level of upgrade and rarity, however it can be reduced by a variety of methods, such as buying upgrades from a retailer or trading them with other players.

The majority of weapons can be upgraded with a prefix, like a rune or an insignia, and others can be upgraded by adding an suffix. These upgrades alter the name of the item and add an adjective, for example "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor. There are some exceptions, however. the non-inscribable weapons, such as shields and foci from Prophecies and Factions campaigns, which are not upgradeable with any kinds of mods in any way.

Glyphs

Glyphs are a way to communicate visual information. They are animated to grab the attention of the viewer and stimulate curiosity in the brain. The animation of glyphs resembles body language, making them even more effective in communicating the message across linguistic barriers. Glyphs can also enhance the retention of messages by creating an emotional connection in the brain.

Each glyph has a set of values it can increase a stat's value, as shown on the item upgrader mod when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use it to enchant an Artifact. This range is not the exact amount at the glyph can increase the stat, but rather the maximum value by which it is able to do so. The value of the glyph will depend on the tier and the quality of the item that you are enchanting.

Most upgrade components slotted into items are not able to be replaced or salvaged without dismantling the gear in question, except for legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a rune or glyph you don't want to use, but it hasn't been applied to gear yet, you can transfer the item to a different piece by using the Upgrade Glyphs menu in the Glyphs Panel. This will create an entirely new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.

If you wish to remove the glyph from an item, you will need to save it using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. The item on which the glyph is installed will be destroyed, however the upgraded item can be recovered with the glyph shards.

When you take away an item after adding a glyph the shards from the glyph will disappear. You can also apply an inscription to your equipment to give it an additional benefit. Deferred Damage, for example can store damage, and then be dealt slowly to the wearer rather than all at once. This can be helpful for players who are taking a lot of damage from their enemies, but do not want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens can be used to alter the affixes on weapons and other equipment. They can be obtained from a variety of sources, such as mysterious boxes, rare drops from skulled monsters or by killing bosses. Each reroll token gives players a new random affix, which is usually superior to the one they had before. Reroll tokens can be used to boost the weapon's stats to increase damage or bonuses.

Items that have been rerolled may not appear in the item upgrade menu, however, they still qualify to receive upgrades. By pressing the "upgrade button", you can recycle the recycled items. This will alter the design of the item's window, and allow up to six items be chosen for recycling. Recycling an item can add a small amount of points to its level gauge. The amount is determined by the rarity of the item and its level. Therefore, higher-leveled items are more valuable for recycling than lower-leveled ones.

Players can also use Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to reroll weapons to upgrade units. Rerolls will roll a % chance for a weapon's trait. If it is higher, then the weapon is upgraded. If it is lower, the weapon remains unchanged. Weapons can be upgraded up to three times.

A reroll is a good option for upgrading an item, but users should be aware that it can reduce the overall ilvl the weapon due to the number of rerolls required to increase it to the final level. This effect is most evident on Diadems and Rings, since they have no other options to increase the ilvl.

The system of rerolls has been criticised by players for being expensive, and it would be more equitable to let players pay for it in the form of money or a food item that allows them to change their build without wasting time and effort. The developers aren't planning to introduce paid rerolls at this stage of the game's development. They plan to add an ingredient that allows players to alter their race in the future.

Leveling

There are a number of ways to level up an item upgrade. The most effective method to level up an upgrade to an item is by increasing the amount of upgrade. This increases the upgrade value for the stat. The alternative is to increase the effect of an upgrade, which increases the damage or healing of the stat. Additionally there is the possibility to upgrade the base item to an upgrade type. The new item will retain its iLevel, but will have the upgraded effects of the upgraded item.

When you upgrade items, it is important to remember that upgrades are random. In most cases a better roll is based on the glyphs. However there are instances where a higher or more special roll could occur. Additionally the iLevel of the upgrade will be determined by the type of item and when you upgrade a unique or rare item to a unique type, it will have a chance to gain an increased iLevel.

Upgrades to items can be costly, particularly if you're upgrading a piece of gear from the normal to legendary track. The price will depend on the item's iLevel base and the amount of upgrade levels it comes with. Certain upgrade tracks require crests in order to get to the next level.

If you're lucky the upgraded item will get to the top of its upgrade track and gain an additional benefit. This will provide a significant increase in the value of the item. The bonus effect is different with each upgrade level. In general, the effect of upgrading is increased by +3.

Depending on the item's base level and upgrade process, the iLevel for the upgraded item will also change. For example an item that has been upgraded from being a rare or unique item to an exceptional one will have the chance to gain the Enhanced Defense of the new base item.
