WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of the item by +3. A random substat is also boosted alongside each upgrade.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless the item has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like the eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are not as useful for those with higher variance due to the requirement to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The item level upgrade (please click the next document) upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. However, the item used to upgrade will be consumed forever and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can be used to create Enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in all major cities and can be accessed at any time to upgrade your gear. It is recommended to visit the upgrader at least once every couple of weeks to ensure that your equipment is up to date.

The cost of upgrades will vary based on the current item level of the gear being upgraded however, they will always be less expensive than buying new equipment from other sources. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items which can be used to upgrade weapons tools, armor, and accessories. They are purchased by players through NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for various currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any weapon, tool or armor. button, which will show an item's preview at its next upgrade level in the event that the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the item slot, and the current item level. For instance weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each upgrade item cost 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Certain upgrades provide a discount on the Flightstones. After an Best item upgrade has been upgraded to a certain degree, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.

Upgraders for items are available in many places, including the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide an upgrade discount and the chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe. The discount on upgrades increases as more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete certain achievements or quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at the start, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are available only through a variety of methods. This is both a benefit as well as a drawback.

In Season 3 the upgrade system has been tweaked a bit, with numerous new features added. When a player has an upgrade to a particular level for an item in an armor slot, upgrading further items to that same item level will cost less, even if they are part of a different gear set.

The discount is applicable to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is reduced too, but it is only available once certain milestones have been reached.

Crests

When it comes to upgrading gear in WoW, players have a few choices. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specific, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1, and come in four ranks.

First, you should know that crests are only available for equipment that is that is of a particular rank. Each rank has a different upgrade path. The simplest and easiest upgrade is 15 crests. The most complicated upgrade could require as much as 20 crests, based on the kind of equipment being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by completing content of the appropriate level, which means walking around and doing outdoor activities for gear of lower tiers, raids or dungeons of all difficulty for items of higher tier, or Mythic+ dungeons or heroic raid bosses for gear that is used in the endgame. Crests can be exchanged at an upgrader NPC, like Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to get the appropriate upgrade routes and steps.

The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, however it does bring some changes to the process of upgrading. When a piece of equipment attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it no longer requires Flightstones. This allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest possible ilvl for all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another significant change is that crests have one use, so it's important to use them properly. For instance, it's a good idea to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the top equipment available and keep Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you plan to make. This is especially relevant for rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character which can only be eligible to benefit from the account-wide discount if all slots are filled with high-quality equipment.
