1. Roomba Q5 pro
The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive counterpart, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums we've test. They feature motors that are top-of-the quality and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. Similar to other iRobots that are premium (including the top model) they utilize smart mapping to produce precise floorplans and avoid household obstacles like cords and furniture legs. The robots also feature the feature of Carpet Boost that increases its power when it senses dirt on the carpet.
The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored excellently in our tests on floors that were bare and are especially adept at cleaning dog hair. However, they do have a few flaws however, which prevent them from being our top choice. For instance, the Q5's navigation system does not include AI-powered obstacle avoidance and is therefore prone to getting hung up on socks and shoes and couldn't navigate rooms with a lot of people efficiently in our tests. Also, it doesn't have a camera that would let it see the corners of an area.
Still, it's very good to consider, particularly if you're looking to save money on an iRobot Roomba and you have a mostly bare-floor home or office. It's also extremely quiet and works while you're at work or at school. The only thing it lacks that you can't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming of floors with no floor. It's also less effective when it comes to mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does come with an auto-emptying dock, however. If you're in need of it clean the mopping pad, it can be swapped for a wet one in seconds.

If the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted space, you can tell it to remove and extend its mop. This will help prevent cross-contamination. The flex arm can be utilized to reach under low-lying furnishings and along baseboards. It's not as effective on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.
During testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop that could complete the entire house with only 66 percent of its battery left. It did a decent cleaning job on various flooring and rooms with different flooring types, including some area rug. Its obstacle detection was great and it was able to avoid fake dog turds, socks, shoes and bundles of cables.
It's more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however, it comes with superior suction, a built-in dust bin that automatically emptys into its base, and it supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It's also the sole robot vacuum/mop to score a perfect 10 out of 10 in our evaluations. This is thanks to the combination of modern sensors, including a restructured lighting system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop mops.
Like other iRobot models like the X40 is user-friendly, with an intuitive mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant. The only drawback is that the X40 is still a noisy unit. This can be a problem in the mornings before work, or in the evening when you are trying to sleep.

The RX3 is a more efficient cleaner than you would expect from its price tag. It does a stellar job cleaning, removing 55% of the debris that was found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses using one pad and a reciprocating motion which is cleaner than the majority of the mop cleaners with robots that we've tried. It also has a less user-friendly app and a small base station that doesn't double as an emptying bin.
