However, they have some flaws that prevent them from being our top pick. One of the weaknesses of the Q5 is its navigation system doesn't feature AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's also prone to get stuck on shoes and socks, and it couldn't navigate densely packed rooms very well in our tests. It also doesn't have an image sensor that lets it see the corners of a room.

It's still a great deal particularly if your office or home has lots of unfinished flooring and you're looking to save some money. It's also quiet and operates while you are at work or in school. 3. iRobot Roomba X40

This robot vacuum and mop combination has a sleek, circular design that looks much like a Roomba model than the bulky models from the competitors. It's among our most appealing looking robot vacuums. The newest model from iRobot is its most advanced model, with features that are cutting-edge like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot vacuum cleaner uk that can autonomously wash mop pads).

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the line robot autonomous vacuum and mop. It has a range of advanced features that help you forget your chores. Like Ecovacs the range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that can take care of both vacuuming and mopping, with a multifunction dock that automatically emptys the vacuum's dustbin, refills its water tank, washes and dry the mop pads.

The smart robot uses an array of LIDAR and structured light to map out floor plans and spot obstacles, and navigates more effectively than its top competitors. It also has a front mounted camera for real-time hazards detection but this wasn't foolproof in our tests and could be confused with obstructions or power cords.

The vacuum cleaner comes with a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to complete the task. It also has an option called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the vacuum's power and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas in the house based on how dirty these areas are.

If you have a bigger home, it is worth selecting a model with a the option of cleaning zones or spots. This allows you to instruct the robot on which part of your home must be cleaned by using the app or voice control. A stair mode can be useful if you own a large furniture. Finally the recharge and resume feature that lets your robot vacuum continue where it left off is ideal for busy families.

iRobot RX3

The RX3 is a cleaner with more intelligence than you would expect from its price tag. It's a pro at vacuuming, picking up 55% of the debris that was found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with only one pad and a reciprocating movement that is more efficient than most of the mop cleaners with robots that we've tested. It's also self-sufficient with a fully-featured application, and a self-emptying base that is washable.

The iRobot application is designed to help you navigate an exercise in mapping that collects data on your floorplan, as well as any "no go" areas that you have marked on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules or to set up a spot-clean. It can also be used to it to prioritize the most soiled areas for greater efficiency.
