WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the item level by +3. A random additional substat is also boosted alongside every upgrade.

The upgraded gear typically has a higher trade value, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or very high stat variation (like Eth titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. However, the item level upgrade (https://www.bitsdujour.com) that is used to upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be used to create enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks.

Upgrades can cost more based on the item level, but they will always be cheaper than purchasing new gear. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest up to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items which can be used to improve the quality of weapons, tools, armor, and other items. They can be purchased by players from NPCs of item upgrades upgraders for a variety of currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased it can be applied to any weapon or tool using an button, which will show a preview of the item at the next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.

The upgrade cost depends on the item slot and the current level of the item upgrade as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than gloves or bracers for instance. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with certain upgrades offering discounts to lower the cost of the Flightstones or crests used. After an item has been upgraded to a certain level, it can be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lesser amount of both currency types.

Many locations offer item upgraders, including the main Island and a few outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount and a chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe. The upgrade discount increases when more items are upgraded. It can be increased if players complete certain achievements or complete quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an upgrader for items at the start, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. Instead, the NPCs that can be used to upgrade are acquired via various methods, which is both an improvement but also a drawback.

In Season 3 the upgrade system was modified a bit, and some new features added. After the player has upgraded to a certain item upgrading level for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same item level, will cost less. This applies even if those items are from another set of equipment.

The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is account-wide. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is also cut and is not available until players have reached certain milestones in their achievements.

Crests

Players have a number of options when it comes to upgrading their equipment in WoW. Flightstones are an item that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specific and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an important component of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.

The first thing to remember is that crests are only available for equipment with a certain rank. Each rank comes with an upgrade path that is different. The simplest and simplest upgrade process costs just 15 crests while the more complex one may require as many as 20 crests based on the type of equipment being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through working through content at the appropriate level. This could mean doing outdoor activities, or by doing dungeons or raids in all difficulty levels to obtain lower-tier gear or Mythicbosses of raids or dungeons that have a high difficulty for endgame gear. The crests can later be exchanged at an upgrader NPC, like Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to get the appropriate upgrade paths and steps.

Using these new currencies isn't too difficult however, the system does introduce some changes to the overall upgrade process. Once a piece of gear has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it no longer requires Flightstones. This change lets players upgrade their gear to the highest possible ilvl for all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also important to use crests with care, since they only have one use. For instance, it's a good idea utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the Best item upgrade gear you have available and save Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you're planning to make. This is particularly true for items such as rings and trinkets that occupy several slots. The discount on the account is only applicable when all slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
