So You ve Purchased Item Upgrade ... Now What
WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by 3. Each upgrade also boosts a random substat.
The upgraded gear typically has a more value in trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variance (like eth titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as useful for those with lower requirements because of the requirement to roll a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. However, the item upgrade used to upgrade will be consumed forever and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enhancements.
You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear up-to-date it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks.
The cost of upgrading will be based on the current level of the gear being upgraded, but will always be cheaper than purchasing new gear from other sources. For instance upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points purchasing a similar piece from a different player will cost 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase weapons, armor, tools and accessory upgrades. They are purchased by players from item upgrader NPCs in exchange for various currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any tool, weapon or armor. button, which will display an image of the item when it is upgraded if the player has sufficient materials.
Upgrade costs differ based on the item slot, and the current level of the item. For example weapons cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Certain upgrades provide a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain degree it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.
Many locations offer item upgraders which include the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount and the chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe. The upgrade discount increases according to the number of items being upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete specific achievements or complete quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an item level upgrade (Appealslip23.bravejournal.Net) upgrader at start unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. Instead the NPCs that can be used to upgrade are acquired via various methods that are both an improvement but also a drawback.
In Season 3, a number of new features have been added to the upgrade system. When a player has an upgrade to a particular level for an item in an armor slot, upgrading other items to that level will cost less, even if they belong to a different gear set.
The discount is applicable to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is also cut and is not available until players achieve certain achievement milestones.
Crests
Players have several choices when it comes to upgrading their equipment in WoW. Flightstones are an item upgrader kit that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more specialized and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are an integral element of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.
The first thing to remember is that the crests can only be purchased for equipment that is that is of a particular rank. Each rank has a different upgrade path. The simplest and easiest upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade requires up to 20 crests, based on the kind of gear being upgraded.
Players can earn crests by completing content at the appropriate level. This could be by engaging in outdoor activities or taking on dungeons and raids of all difficulties to get lower-tier gear or Mythicbosses of raids or dungeons with a heroic difficulty for endgame gear. The crests can later be exchanged at an upgrader NPC like Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to get the appropriate upgrade paths and steps.
Utilizing these new currencies isn't that difficult, but the system does introduce some modifications to the upgrade process. For instance, when an item reaches the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest possible ilvl on all of their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.
It's also crucial to choose crests in a wise manner, as they are only used for one purpose. For instance, it's Best item upgrader to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the top equipment available and save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you're planning to make. This is particularly true for items such as rings and trinkets that occupy multiple slots. The discount on the account is only applicable when all the slots on the character are filled with high-quality gear.
