Citigroup Inc. (Citi) is an American multinational investment bank and financial services corporation headquartered in New York City. It is one of the world's largest financial institutions.

Overview

Citigroup was formed in 1998 through the merger of Citicorp and Travelers Group. Jane Fraser made history in 2021 by becoming the first woman to lead a major Wall Street bank when she became CEO.
