Both the Q5 and the Q7 Max Series get very good scores in our bare floor tests and are particularly effective in removing pet hair. They do have some flaws, however, that prevent them from being our first option. One of the flaws of the Q5 is that its navigation system doesn't have AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's also prone to getting stuck on shoes and socks and could not navigate densely packed rooms very well in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera to see around corners.
It's still a good value particularly if your office or home has a lot of bare floors and you want to save money. It's also extremely quiet and operates when you're at work or school. The only thing it's missing that you can't find in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. It's also less effective at mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does have self-emptying docks, however. If you're required to mop, the mopping pad can be swapped for one that is wet in just a few just a few seconds.
2. iRobot Roomba
The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming into a sleek, compact package. Its nimble navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it easy to clean and efficient at tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also comes with an impressive suction system and an automatic bin for emptying. It's the best robot hoover for carpets, though it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.
This high-performance vacuum and mops utilizes sensors that help it keep away from obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the patterns of your home over time to offer better cleaning. The app lets you set up zones and modify the cleaning schedule. Its battery life is average in comparison to other models.

It's more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, but it has superior suction, a dustbin on board that automatically emptys into its base, and also supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can also clean the floor even after it vacuums. This is a feature that we haven't seen before on other robotic vacuum/mop combinations.
3. iRobot Roomba X40
This robot vacuum and mop combination features a sleek, circular design that looks much like a Roomba unit than the boxy units of the competition. It's one of our most attractive robot vacuums. iRobot's latest flagship model also is its most advanced and has advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can autonomously wash mop pads).
It's the only robotic vacuum/mop to score 100% in our tests, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors, which include cameras, a structured light system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop mops.
Like other iRobot models, the X40 is user-friendly, offering a simple mobile app interface, and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. The only issue is that the X40 is still a noisy unit. This could be a concern in the mornings before work, or during the night when you're trying to sleep.
It's also quite expensive, although it's not as pricey as the Ecovacs Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra Both of which are equally powerful and look better. This is a two-in-one vacuum mop cleaner robot that's extremely powerful however, it's more expensive and make more noise.
iRobot L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the line robot vacuum and mop. It has a number of advanced features that will make you forget about your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning device, similar to Ecovacs the top of the line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It features a multi-functional dock that can automatically emptys the vacuum's bin and refills the water tank, and cleans and drys mop pads.
The smart robot uses an array of LIDAR and structured light to draw out floor plans and identify obstacles, making it more efficient than its more expensive rivals. It also comes with a front-mounted camera that can detect hazards in real-time but this wasn't foolproof in our tests and was often confused with power cords or obstructions.
The vacuum cleaner comes with a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than sufficient to do the job. It also has an attribute called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts cleaning frequency for different areas in the home based on how dirty the areas are.
For bigger homes, it's worth opting for models with spot or zone cleaning modes that let you tell the robot vacuum reviews to clean one particular area of your home using the app or voice commands. A stair mode can be beneficial if you have lot furniture. For families that are busy recharge functions and resume feature that permits your robot vacuum to pick up where it left off could be extremely useful.
5. iRobot Roomba RX3

It can be used to design cleaning schedules or organize an automatic spot-clean. You can also use it to prioritize the most soiled areas to improve performance. The app offers a variety of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping and advanced cleaning settings.
Its shape is more rectangular than other robot vacuums, which means it is able to reach corners and underneath furniture more easily. It also has a strong 8000 Pascal suction and combs with intelligent technology for hair of pets. It also has the ability to create a spot-clean that intensely cleans a localized area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD offers a sleeker and less expensive alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras appear like cute eyes. It is great at vacuuming, but it is more likely to be stuck on low thresholds. It is also louder than other top robot vacuums that we've tested. It also has a less user-friendly app and a tiny base station that can't be used as a bin for emptying.
