WoW Upgrades - The item upgrade Upgrader

Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by 3. A random substat is also increased with each upgrade.

The more modernized gear generally has a greater value for trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or very high stat variance (like eth titan weapons). Upgrades are not as useful for the latter due to the need to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The Item level Upgrade upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapons. The item used to upgrade the item is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be used to create enchantments.

The upgrader is located in all major cities, and can be visited at any time to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended to visit the upgrader once every few weeks to keep your equipment up to date.

The cost of upgrades will depend on the current level of the gear being upgraded but they will always be cheaper than buying new gear from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item upgrader mod will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase weapon, armor, tool and accessory upgrades. They are purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for various currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any tool, weapon, or armor. button, which will display an image of the item when it is upgraded if the player has sufficient materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the item slot, and the current level of the item. For example weapons cost more than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with certain upgrades having a discount to reduce the cost of Flightstones or crests that are used. After an item upgrading has been upgraded to a certain level it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.

Upgraders for items are available in a variety of locations, including the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon as well as the possibility of getting the latest recipe. The upgrade discount increases according to the number of items being upgraded, and can be increased by having players complete some specific achievements or complete quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an upgrader for items at the start, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. Instead, the NPCs that can be used to upgrade must be acquired through a variety of means that are both an improvement as well as a disadvantage.

In Season 3, a number of new features were added to the upgrade system. After an upgrade has been completed to a specific level for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same level will cost less. This is true even if those items come from an entirely different set of equipment.

The discount is available to all accounts. Similarly, the amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is also reduced and is not available until players achieve certain milestones in their achievements.

Crests

Players have a variety of choices when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specialized and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are a key element of the Dragonflight gear progression system, which was introduced in 10.1 and are available in 4 ranks.

The first thing to remember is that Crests are only available to equipment that is that is of a particular rank. Each rank comes with an upgrade path that is different. The easiest and most straightforward upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complex upgrade could require as much as 20 crests, depending on the type of gear being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through completing content at the appropriate level. This could mean doing outdoor activities, or by doing dungeons or raids in any difficulty to earn equipment of lower tier or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons with a heroic difficulty for gear in the endgame. Crests can be exchanged at an item upgrader NPC, like Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken, for the appropriate upgrade routes and steps.

The new currency system isn't difficult to use, however it does bring some changes to the process of upgrading. Once a piece of gear reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it will no longer require Flightstones. This allows players to upgrade their gear to the highest level possible for all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also essential to use crests with care, since they only have one use. It is best to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the Best item upgrader gear you can locate and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly applicable to items like trinkets and rings that take up several slots. The account-wide discount will only be applicable if all the slots on the character are filled with top-quality equipment.
