The i3+ does not have obstacle avoidance capabilities like the i7+ or any other top-rated robots we have tested. It can be stuck on power cords and socks, and may have trouble navigating between surfaces, such as rug and hardwood.
iRobot suggests that you clear areas in which the i3+ EVO will vacuum prior to when you use it, and include getting rid of any clutter or toys it may come across. It is also recommended to keep the dustbin and filter free of dirt to prevent them from becoming clogged. We were also awestruck by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We utilized these services to instruct the robot to start, stop, or pause cleaning sessions and also to move around the room, and even vacuum a specific area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ with these services. After connecting we were able to give the i7+ voice commands such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options to manage i7+ settings and evaluating performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
In a world full of vacuums with cords that feel like minivans or buses, this small Dyson model is an old-fashioned sports car. It's got the power and features to replace a stand-up vacuum for the majority of households, but it also fits in well next to the table for a coffee or a bookshelf that you can spin around like a magic device.
The V10 is powered by seven cells of energy-dense Lithium-ion batteries, which produces power that is not fading for 60 minutes. Its navigation system is smart and uses iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate your home, but it isn't equipped with the ability to map that comes with more sophisticated models like our top selections, the i3+ EVO and the j7+ series.
