Upgrades can sometimes increase the power of a piece of equipment and sometimes even its extras. The value of these upgrades is determined by their tiers, requirements and the number of random augmentations applied.
The elite racial Shield Razortail for instance, is usually upgraded to improve its lightning absorption capability in PvP and/or provide additional defenses to missile-based builds in the PvM. This makes it more tradeable than the perfect non-upgraded version.
Reroll Tokens
Reroll tokens allow you to reroll a purchased item like armor, weapon or ring. The item is swapped for a different one similar one and comes with a different set of extra bonuses. Reroll tokens are an affordable method of upgrading gear. However, they do not retain the quality of the original item and any resources wasted aren't refunded.
The surviving players can acquire Reroll tokens in a variety of ways, including the Mistery Box and rare drops from skulled creatures. They can be located in crates and chests or purchased at the local store for 150k each.
