Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

Item upgrade, also called "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment boosts the stats linearly.

Players can recycle six items at a time to gauge each item's upgraded component. The cost of recycling items scales with their rarity and item level.

Upgrade components

In Guild Wars 2, an item upgrade is a way to increase the stats on your weapon and armor. This can be achieved in a variety of ways, including by using upgrade components or by increasing the rarity or mark level. Many items can also be reforged to increase their value.

Upgradeable items can be found all over the game, both in the world and as rewards for missions. Players can also make them. The primary method to upgrade equipment is through the use of upgrade components which are items that can be slotted into equipment. The majority of equipment comes with upgrade slots, and many require a certain level of upgrade. Certain upgrade components offer specific bonuses while others provide general bonuses.

There are a variety of upgrade components available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions and jewels. Universal upgrades, such as gemstones and enchantments, can be placed in any type of equipment and offer less bonuses than those that are equipment-type specific to the type of equipment. Glyphs can only be placed in gathering tools and provide various bonuses, ranging from increasing the speed of the item's collection to supplying additional crafting materials.

To upgrade an item, click it from your inventory and open the Upgrade window. This will display an overview on the right side of the screen, showing what the expected stats are after the upgrade, and any necessary components or materials. If you don't have enough of either the two, the Upgrade button will say Blocked.

The amount of upgrade components required for a given item is displayed in the upper-right corner of the Upgrade window. The cost of an upgrade increases with the level and rarity of the item increase. However you can cut down on this cost by purchasing upgrades from a vendor, or trading them with other players.

Nearly all weapons can be upgraded with a prefix upgrade like an insignia, or a rune, and many can be upgraded using suffix upgrades. These upgrades include an adjective in the name of the item like "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to communicate visual information. They are animated to grab the viewer's attention and spur interest in the brain. The glyphs' animation mimics the body language, making them more effective in conveying an inter-linguistic message. Glyphs also create a sense of familiarity in the brain, increasing retention of the message.

Each glyph has a set of values that it can increase a stat's value, as shown on the Best item upgrader when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use them to enchant an Artifact. This is the highest value that the glyph can improve a stat by but not the amount it will actually increase the stat by. The actual value of the glyph is determined by the tier and the quality of the item you're in awe of it.

The majority of upgrade components that are slotted into items can't be repaired or replaced without removing the gear in question, with the exception of legendary equipment and upgrades. If you do have a non-useful rune or glyph that has not yet been added to your gear, you can move it to another piece of equipment by utilizing the Upgrade Glyphs context menu on the Glyphs panel. This will create the new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.

You can take out a glyph by using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. The item will be destroyed that it was installed in however, you can salvage the upgraded item with the glyph and its shards, therefore, it shouldn't be considered a loss.

When you take away an item after adding a glyph, the shards of the glyph will vanish. You can also apply a glyph to your equipment to add a bonus. Deferred Damage, for example can be used to store damage and then be dealt slowly to the wearer rather than all at one time. This can be helpful for players who are taking many hits from their enemies, but do not want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens permit players to alter the affixes they use on their weapons and equipment, and they can be obtained in various ways, including in mistery boxes or as rare drops from skulled creatures, or even from killing bosses. Every reroll grants the player a random affix that is typically better than what they had prior to. Reroll tokens can also be a good method to reroll the stats of a weapon that can be upgraded to increase damage or perks.

Rerolled items do not appear on the menu for item upgrading upgrades, but they are still able to be upgraded. If you click the "upgrade button", you can recycle the recycled items. This will alter the layout of the item's window and let up to six items be selected for recycling. The level gauge is boosted by recycling an item. The amount is determined based on the item's rarity and also its level. Therefore, items that are higher level are more valuable to recycle than items with lower levels.

Players can also make use of Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to reroll Weapon Traits to upgrade units. Rerolls roll the percentage chance of a weapon trait. If it is higher, the weapon is upgraded. If it is lower, the weapon remains the same. Weapons can be upgraded up to three times.

Rerolling is a fantastic way to upgrade an item. However, players must be aware that the total ilvl will be diminished by the number of that it took to reroll it to the final ilvl. This effect is most noticeable on Rings and Diadems as they have no other options for raising ilvl.

Players have complained that the reroll system is expensive. It would be fairer to let people pay for it using money or food items which would allow players to make changes to their builds without spending excessive amounts of time. The developers have no plans to offer paid rerolls in this stage in the game's development. Instead, they plan to add an ability to change races in the future.

Leveling

There are several ways to upgrade an item. The first is to increase the upgrade amount that increases the value of upgrading the stat. The alternative is to increase the effect of the upgrade, which boosts the damage or healing of a stat. The base item can be upgraded to an advanced upgrade type. The upgraded item will maintain its iLevel, but have the upgraded effects of the upgraded item.

When you upgrade items, it is important to remember that upgrades are not guaranteed. In the majority of cases, a better roll is based on the glyphs. However there are occasions when a greater or special roll may occur. The type of item will determine the iLevel. If you upgrade a rare or unique item to a unique kind of item, it has a chance of receiving an additional level.

Upgrades to items can be costly, particularly when you're upgrading a piece of equipment from the standard to legendary track. The cost will depend on the item's iLevel base and the number of upgrade levels it comes with. Additionally, certain upgrade tracks require crests to get to the next upgrade level.

If you're lucky the upgraded item could reach the maximum level on its upgrade track and gain an additional benefit. This will provide the item with a significant upgrade value. The bonus effect can change with each upgrade level though. Generally speaking the upgrade effect is increased by a value of +3.

Depending on the item's base level and upgrade process, the iLevel for the upgraded item will change as well. For instance the weapon that has been upgraded from a rare or unique item to an extraordinary item will have a chance to be upgraded to the Enhanced Defense of the base item type.
