WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give you boost in specific statistics. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by 3. Each upgrade also boosts an unspecified substat.

The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless it is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any type of weapon or armor. However, the item used for the upgrade will be consumed forever and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader at least once every few weeks to keep your equipment up-to-date.

Upgrades will cost more, based on the item level, but they will always be cheaper than buying new equipment. For instance, upgrading a Benthic chest piece to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points while purchasing the same item from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase tools, armor, weapon and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased from item upgrades upgraders NPCs for a variety of currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any weapon, tool or armor. button, which displays a preview of the item at its next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrading is based on the item slot and the current item level upgrade level, with weapons costing more than bracers or gloves, for example. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with some upgrades offering discounts to lower the cost of Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item is upgraded to a certain amount and is degraded, it can be sold and sold back to the upgrader for a lesser amount of both currencies.

Many locations have upgraders for their items which include the main island and a few outposts. The NPCs offer an upgrade coupon and a possibility of obtaining the latest recipe. The discount on upgrades increases when more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players finish certain achievements or quests.

Contrary to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II is no item upgrader available at the start of Icewind Dale. Instead, the NPCs that are available to facilitate upgrades are acquired via several methods, which is both an improvement but also a drawback.

In Season 3, many new features were added to the upgrade system. After a player has upgraded to a specific level for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same item level will cost less. This applies regardless of whether the items are from an entirely different set of gear.

The discount is available to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is cut too, but it is only available when certain milestones have been reached.

Crests

Players have several options when it comes to upgrading their equipment in WoW. Flightstones are a currency that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specific and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are an important component of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System, which was introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.

The first thing to be aware of is that crests are only able to be used on gear of a specific rank, and every rank has different requirements for upgrading. The simplest and simplest upgrade route costs 15 crests while the most complex may require as many as 20 crests based on the type of gear being upgraded.

Players can obtain crests by working through content that is of the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and performing outdoor activities for gear of lower tiers, dungeons or raids of any difficulty for higher-tier items, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses and dungeons for endgame gear. These crests are then exchanged with an upgrader for the Item Level Upgrade, such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and paths.

The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, but it brings some changes to the process of upgrading. For instance, when a piece of equipment reaches the highest upgrade level of any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is intended to allow players to get their equipment up to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also important to use crests in a wise manner, as they have only one purpose. It's best to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the best gear you can locate, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is particularly true for items such as trinkets and rings that fill several slots. The discount on the account is only applicable when all the slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
