WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades can give you boosts in specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item upgrader mod by +3. A random additional substat is also boosted alongside each upgrade.

The upgraded gear is usually more useful, unless the item has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as valuable for those with lower requirements due to the need to roll the perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher item level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can be used to create Enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear current, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every couple of weeks.

Upgrades will cost more, based on the item level, however, they are always cheaper than purchasing new equipment. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that are used to improve the quality of weapons tools, armor, and other accessories. They can be purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades to item upgrade owners in a variety of currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any tool, weapon or armor. button, which will show a preview of the item upgrader mod at the next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the item slot, and the current item level. For instance weapons are more expensive than bracers, or gloves. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with some upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of Flightstones or the crests used. After an item has been upgraded to a certain degree it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.

Many locations offer item upgraders, including the main Island and some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount as well as a chance to acquire a new upgrade recipe. The discount for upgrading increases when more items are upgraded. It can be increased by having players finish certain achievements or quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an upgrader for items at the beginning unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are available only via a variety of ways. This is both a benefit and an issue.

In Season 3, many new features were added to the upgrade system. After the player has upgraded to a certain level of item for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same item level, will cost less. This applies even if the items are from another set of equipment.

The amount of Valorstones needed to upgrade is reduced and the discount is affixed to all accounts. Similarly, the amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is also reduced and is not available until players have reached certain milestones in their achievement.

Crests

Players have several options when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are an item that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specific, and are used during specific Item Level Upgrade level upgrades. Crests are a key element of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1 and are available in 4 ranks.

First, you must be aware that Crests are only available to equipment with a certain rank. Each rank has an upgrade path that is different. The simplest and simplest upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade can require up to 20 crests, based on the type or equipment being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by completing tasks at the appropriate level. This could be by engaging in outdoor activities or completing dungeons and raids in any difficulty to earn lower-level gear or Mythicbosses for raids, or dungeons that have a high difficulty for endgame gear. The crests can later be exchanged at an upgrader NPC like Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to get the appropriate upgrade pathways and steps.

The use of these currencies isn't too complicated however, the system introduces some changes to the overall upgrade process. For instance, when an item is at the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is designed to allow players to upgrade their equipment to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.

Another significant modification is that crests have one usage, so it's important to use them properly. For instance, it's a good idea utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests with the Best item upgrader equipment you have, and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you're planning to make. This is particularly true for items such as trinkets and rings that take up multiple slots. The discount on the account will only be applicable if all the slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
