WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. A random extra substat is also added to each upgrade.

The upgraded gear typically has a higher trade value regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or very high stat variance (like eth titan weapons). Upgrades are not as useful for those with lower requirements due to the requirement to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader mod upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to Enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear current it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each several weeks.

Upgrades can cost more based on the level of the item, however they'll always be cheaper than buying new equipment. For instance upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points purchasing a similar piece from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items which can be used to level up weapons, tools, armor, and other items. They are purchased by players from item upgrader kit upgrader NPCs in exchange for a variety of currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any tool, weapon or armor. button, which will show an item's preview when it is upgraded in the event that the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the slot for the item and the current item level. For example weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with some upgrades having a discount to reduce the cost of the Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item upgrade has been upgraded to a certain degree it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.

Upgraders for items can be found in a variety of locations including the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide an upgrade discount and a chance to acquire a new upgrade recipe. The discount for upgrading increases as more items are upgraded. It can be increased by having players complete certain achievements or quests.

Contrary to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II, there is no upgrader for items available at the start of Icewind Dale. The NPCs that can assist with upgrades are available only through a variety of methods. This is both a benefit and an issue.

In Season 3, several new features were added to the upgrade system. After a player has earned an upgrade to a particular level for an item in an armor slot, upgrading additional items to that same item level will cost less, even in the event that they belong to another set of gear.

The discount is applicable to all accounts. Similarly, the amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is also reduced and is not available until players achieve certain achievement milestones.

Crests

Players have several options for upgrading their equipment in WoW. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more special and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are a key element of the Dragonflight gear progression system, which was introduced in 10.1 and are available in 4 ranks.

The first thing to note is that crests can only be used to purchase equipment that is of a particular rank, and each rank has its own requirements for its upgrade path. The simplest and easiest upgrade is 15 crests. The most complicated upgrade can require up to 20 crests, based on the type of equipment that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through working through tasks at the appropriate level. This could be done by engaging in outdoor activities or taking on dungeons and raids of all difficulties to get lower-level gear or Mythicbosses for raids, or dungeons with a heroic difficulty to obtain endgame gear. The crests can later be exchanged at an item upgrader NPC like Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to get the appropriate upgrade routes and steps.

The new currency system isn't difficult to use, however it will bring some modifications to the upgrade process. For example, once an item level upgrade is at the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest level possible on all of their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also important to use crests in a wise manner, as they only have one use. For instance it's a good idea to make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests on the top gear you have available and then save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you plan to make. This is especially relevant for items like trinkets and rings that take up multiple slots. The discount for the entire account will only apply when all the slots on the character are filled with high-quality gear.
