Top Rated Robot Vacuums

A robot vacuum will keep your floors clean enough to cut down on the frequency of manual hoovering. Select a vacuum that has good navigation, can clean stairs and corners, and that has a large bin that needs to be emptying every so often.

There are models that can mop and charge themselves This is an advantage that is essential for families with children or pets. A lot of the top performers in our tests have good obstacle avoidance.

1. IRobot Roomba i3+ EVO

The i3+ EVO is identical to its sibling, the i3 EVO. They differ only in that the i3+ has self-emptying capabilities. The i3+ is a good option for those who want an automated, hands-free cleaning experience, but want to manually empty the dust bin once it gets full.

Both robots are good at picking up surface dirt on carpets and hard floors, and they can easily move around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates smart map of your home to aid the i3+ in its navigation and clean efficiently. However unlike the i7+ or other top-rated robots that we test the i3+ doesn't have obstacle-avoidance capabilities which means it can get stuck on things such as power cords or socks, and may have issues in navigating through transitions between surfaces like hardwood to rug.

iRobot recommends clearing areas in which the i3+ EVO will vacuum prior to when you use it, including putting away any clutter or toys it may come across. You should also keep the filters and dust bin clear to avoid getting blocked. When the i3+ EVO’s internal bin is empty or the battery is not fully charged, it returns to the docking station and automatically empties the dirt into the station's dust bin. It then continues cleaning from where it left off. The i3+ EVO's battery lasts for about an hour and a half of continuous use. It takes about three hours to fully recharge.

2. iRobot Roomba i7+

The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the top model of the flagship line from iRobot, and it has the most up-to-date features. It's self-charging, self-navigating, and -- the most important feature of all -- it comes with self cleaning vacuum-emptying bins that eliminate one of the main sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.

The Roomba I7+ is able to make rooms more efficient maps using Imprint Smart Mapping. It also integrates with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and it can direct your robot using the app or voice.

In our tests, the i7+ was faster and more maneuverable than our second-placed model which was the eufy RoboVac G30, and it removed large chunks of pet hair from all surface types, including carpeting. Its biggest advantage over the eufy, is its self-emptying dustbin, which eliminates a major source of maintenance and reduces recurring costs.

We were also impressed by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services which we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning session and move around the room, and even vacuum the area. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was easy and easy with the iRobot Home app. After being connected, to voice commands to the i7+ for example "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options for managing the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

This tiny Dyson model is an athletic car in a sea of cordless vacuums that feel like minivans and buses. It's got the power and features to replace a stand-up vacuum in many households, but it also fits in well next to the table for a coffee or a bookshelf that you can spin around like the magic tool.

The V10 is powered with a 7-cell energy-dense Lithium-ion battery that produces energy that lasts for 60 minutes. The sophisticated whole-machine filter system captures allergens, and then lets cleaner air into your home. Its specialized cleaning head drives stiff nylon bristles deep into carpet to collect large dust and crumbs. It has three suction modes that can be adapted to the specific task. It quickly converts from handheld vacuum to floor washing robot vacuum and back again.

The model also comes with docks that charge to 100% in 3.5 hours and offers easy access to two attachments as well as a clip for a wand. This is a major improvement over older Dysons that require a long charge and are difficult to store.

The V10's biggest drawback is its limited run time. The claims of its marketing that it can provide up to 60 minutes of run time are not true as CR's tests show. This is a typical not an extraordinary time for an electric cordless vacuum powered by batteries. This is enough time to vacuum a typical-sized home but not enough to reach every area. (A second run generally works). This model has its own advantages however: it's lighter and more mobile than previous Dysons cordless models and its ability to vacuum is significantly better on low-pile floor carpet.

4. iRobot Roomba 694

One of the most well-known best robot floor cleaner vacuums The 694 is a basic model that's an excellent option for those who don't want to spend too much money on a robot. It's capable of sucking up a variety of debris types and sizes during our tests, and often goes over the same areas many times to ensure a thorough clean. The flat front of the unit allows it to reach into corners and along the edges of walls which is a nice feature.

Its navigation system is smart and uses iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate around your home, but it isn't equipped with the mapping capability of more sophisticated models such as our top selections, the i3+ EVO and j7+ series. As a result, it can sometimes get stuck on things like phone cords or low furniture, and it often runs out of battery power before returning to its original location.

The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways over the Roomba 694 in that it has fewer components that require regular cleaning, is equipped with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtering system, has a lower costs for recurring expenses, is more sophisticated in its automation capabilities and is better able to navigate its own. It also has a larger dustbin and is charged faster.

The sleek RoboVac X8 has a superior battery life than the Roomba 694. It also comes with physical boundaries strips that can be controlled with your smartphone's voice assistance. It is also more durable, has a stronger motor, and is more effective on floors with bare or low-pile.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

Samsung is a well-known brand in the field of home electronics. It's not a surprise that they are also among the Top rated robot vacuum manufacturers of robot vacuums and mop. Their Jet Bot AI+ is packed with cutting-edge onboard tech for navigation and obstacles avoidance.

The app offers a variety of options to customize your robotic cleaner, such as virtual barriers mopping water levels, behavior modification, docking frequency settings, and much more. It's easy to comprehend and is user-friendly, which is the case with other Samsung devices.

In our tests during our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ performed well on hard floors, and it removed 86% of dog hair (on carpet). It did not do well in avoiding taller items such as socks or cords. This was disappointing. It's also more expensive than the other models we've tested and this could be a deal breaker for certain shoppers.

The smart vacuum comes with an onboard camera that is accessible through the app. You can also set up a live streaming from the robot's cleaning station. This feature allows you to monitor your pets or children when you're away from home. The filter and the dustbin can be cleaned for the quick and easy cleaning. The Jet Bot AI+ comes with self-emptying clean stations, which helps to keep the robot's bin clear and optimizes suction power.

6. Black & Decker Robot Vacuum

In contrast to other robotic vacuums that are specifically designed for hard floors and carpets, Black and Decker robots are specifically designed for hard floors. They come with a wide cleaning path and a larger dust bin that can hold 2X more debris than other models to keep the cleaning area clean for the longest time. They also include two side sweepers for cleaning around corners and edges. The POWERSERIES Extreme model comes with AutoSense technology, which senses if it's picking up dirt or debris on the surface and automatically adjusts the power level. It also includes a best smart vacuum application that lets you view the virtual map, and control the functions and schedules. You can also monitor the battery's status and then return it to its dock to charge at the touch of one button. The app allows you to alter the LED lights on the top of the vacuum so that you can discern where it is focusing or if it has gotten stuck.

The application also allows you to steer the robot manually if needed. For example, my living room rug has a darkly colored border that has a tendency to cause confusion for other robots I've tested. However, the HRV 425BL continued to move across the border without registering it as an incline. The ability to program a weekly cleaning schedule for each week is a time-saving advantage.
