The 10 Scariest Things About Robots That Vacuum And Mop
Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and clean provide the convenience of cleaning dry and wet messes in one go and without the need to switch between devices. They can also save space when compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living areas.
A good combination bot will have impressive navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models with docks that let them automatically empty their bins, fill their water tanks and wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's one of the easiest robots to set up that we've tested. Unpacking is simple, and the quick-start guide can get you up and running in no time. You'll have a a full dust bag, water tank, and hard floor solution.
The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that is able to clean up a storm and vacuums well too. Its mops spin at high speeds and apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, which makes short work of dirt, pet hair, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, as well as a selection of attachments and brushes and an intuitive app that lets you select the type of cleaning you'd like for each room.
For instance, you can opt for the robot to clean up the living and kitchen areas but take it easy in the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It is able to detect small obstacles that other models can't. Its only drawback is that it can smash into walls and other objects at full speed. However, a quick glance at the history of cleaning in the app tells you exactly what it's doing, where it's going and the obstacles it's run into or avoided.
A convenient LCD screen on the docking station tells the maintenance tasks that are required, such as emptying the debris tray, and cleaning the dirty water tank. It is also able to mix detergent into the water tank by itself with a 600ml of eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop are able to run for a long time and the mop is able to operate for 184 minutes in Quiet mode, while the vacuum is can last for 136 minutes in standard mode before needing to recharge or return to the base to replenish. You can view the complete cleaning details within the app, which is intuitively laid out and easily understood, though we would have liked to be able to differentiate between a vacuum and mop clean, when looking at a cleaned area in the history of cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's top robot vacuum and mop. The model this year has two agitators built into its mopping pad. This improves the carpet cleaning capabilities of this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction capacity that enables it to pick up smaller hairs and other particles other robotic cleaners may miss.
This Roborock model, like the other two I tried is equipped with infrared and 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it get around obstacles like walls, furniture, and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by adding a dual camera which can detect objects and determine whether they are a wall or another type of surface. It will then automatically alter its direction and clean them without missing a beat.
It's the most expensive model I've tried and it comes with the most features. Its sleek, angular design is striking and only has three physical buttons. The power button, which also resumes the cleaning robot mop and vacuum mop button, which doubles up as a child-lock, and a home-button to bring the best robot vacuum that mops to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid reveals a 350ml dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin automatically refills.
The only issue I encountered to this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't removable. While you can swap out the mopping cloth (if necessary) but it's a challenge to take off the mount for manual washing. I've found that any plush carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, which can cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart features which include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can configure and manage these using the Roborock app which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to schedule cleanings, monitor battery life and component maintenance. You'll need to jump through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. This is a shame considering how efficient it is otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop equipped with incredible suction power, sophisticated mowing capabilities, and innovative features. Its intelligent design allows you to customize and efficiently clean while reducing time.

It can also get under furniture with low profile, making it an excellent option for apartments with small spaces or condos. The side brush automatically tilts down when it spots wet spots. This is a wonderful feature that enables the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors through excessive back-and forth movements.
Contrary to other robots, which are restricted to a single task, the X40 can mop and vacuum at the same time. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors and not skip carpeted areas, and reverse the process. It can be controlled via the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operation.
The app is intuitive and simple to use and the X40's clever features are easy to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at certain times. It can also be adjusted to adjust suction power, switch modes, view floor plans and maps and manage mopping setting. The X40 will also monitor its progress and notify you when it's finished.
The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with many convenient features, making it an ideal choice for busy families. 4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available on the market. It has a number of features that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub, a new feature on its mops, uses two mop heads that are high-speed to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is significantly higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can clean pet hair and small dirt particles in addition to removing spills and wet spots.
The mop is cleaned and dried in the base station each time they are used. This feature is great because it prevents mould and unpleasant odours from accumulating in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature that we haven't seen on other robot mop and vacuum models. It could be a great method to keep your home cleaner longer.
There's a wealth of settings available, including the ability to schedule cleaning and adjust a variety of preferences. These can be set via the app or there are buttons that can be found on the device itself. The app is easy to use and offers many options for customizing the cleaning process, and there are many features that other robots don't include, for instance, the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power whenever it detects dust particles rather than using an individual setting.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we've seen on the market, with a white and metallic design that is elegant and stylish. It's a bit heavier than the other two-in-1 robots on this list, at 4kg - but it's not obscenely heavy either, and it feels robust and well built. The mopping is also well-designed and the double-rotating mop is great for hard floors as well as in corners. The MopExtend feature lets them reach up to 2mm below baseboards.
