10 Misconceptions Your Boss Has Concerning Item Upgrades
World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Item upgrades give players the possibility of upgrading equipment that they already have. This can be accomplished by any item upgrader NPC.
Upgrades boost the stats of an item, and can also add additional features based on the type of item upgrader mod. Examples include Whistan’s shield for FB Sorcs, and Goldwraps for caster builds.
Armour
Link's armor is a crucial element to protect him from harm. While it can't be upgraded like weapons, it is able to be improved in various ways to enhance its defense capabilities.
The basic idea of armour is to shield animals or people from physical injury or harm in the form of direct physical attack or from various dangers to the environment or activity. Historically, the majority of armour was made of fabrics or leather, however metal protections were also employed in military applications, particularly like heavy cavalry and combat drones.
Like weapons there are a myriad of ways in which armour can be upgraded, but most will require visiting one of the four Great Fairy Fountains located throughout Hyrule. Each fountain has its own level of upgrades and more will provide higher levels of protection, but require a higher price in rupees and other materials to unlock.
First, Armor Upgrades are permanent upgrades. Once they've been put in place, they can't be removed in the event that you own a piece of gear with the same upgrade. You should only apply most advanced upgrades to your equipment and make sure that you have the equipment needed to complete them.
You will find the upgrades you require in a variety places around Hyrule. These include shrines, merchants and even enemies. These will generally be marked with a gold circle or a blue triangle symbol, and will be available in large quantities as you progress through the game. They can appear randomly, but there is a possibility that obtaining certain upgrades can trigger a quest that will reward you with even more.
It's also worth noting that even though the amount of protection offered by each upgrade varies but it's the same across all upgrades and will always be superior to nothing. This is because a full set of upgraded armor will grant you a high defense boost, which will shield you from all types of attacks, except magic, making it a powerful tool for any class.
Weapons
You can upgrade your guns with special upgrades to make them truly unique. These upgrades can increase the damage or alter the stats of the weapon in accordance with your specific build. They also allow new attachments such as unique enchantments and different types of ammo, and aesthetic options.
You'll require both the upgrade component and the weapon itself to upgrade it. The weapon must be above a certain level for the upgrade to take effect and most weapons can only take one upgrade at a time.
You can find weapons upgrade components scattered throughout the world and from enemies and can be bought from a merchant. Upgrade components are a mixture of ingredients that you are able to put into weapons, armors trinkets, tools for gathering and other items in order to gain an attribute bonus. The equipment must be at a certain level to accept the upgrade. It can be upgraded in the same way as other items.
Upgrades are a mix of Smithing Stones (a type of stone) and Runes. They are used to enhance the stats of weapons and improve their scaling with other stats. They can be found from enemies that are dropped into the open, bought from certain vendors or found from combat.
There are two NPCs who can upgrade your weapons: Blacksmith Hewg in the Roundtable Hold hub area and the Smithing Master Iji in the Road to the Manor hub area. Both of these NPCs accept your Smithing Stones or Runes to upgrade your weapon.
Prioritize upgrading your most-used slot items first. Then, upgrade the items that you won't replace soon. Upgrade your weapon first, and then upgrade your chest, shoulders feet, hands, and shoulders in case you intend to play an asymmetrical build. The same principle goes for Magic and Utility Items, with the caveat that some items may be better than others based on the style of play you prefer. Similar is the case for Armour Reforges, with certain types being superior to others.
Magic Items
A character can upgrade only one item level upgrade of magic at one time. If an upgrade plan is cancelled and the next upgrade for that item will not begin. Upgraded magic items cost twice as much gold to create or purchase, but they can have other benefits.
A magical item is any item that has special properties or effects. Most of these items are weapons, however some are also armor, shields and cloaks, potions, scrolls, rings and other objects. Some of these items have a sense of being.
Most magic items can be upgraded so that they are infused with additional abilities. This makes them more useful to players or help them to overcome a difficult situation. An infused weapon might provide an additional amount of damage to a specific type of enemy, for instance. This is especially beneficial for characters who have reached a level where they are likely to face a single type of monster in Dungeons.
A ring with an infusion could grant protection against piercing, bludgeoning or slashing damages from non-magical attacks (not even silvered ones) until the next time the character takes a lengthy rest. This is particularly beneficial for melee martial characters, or any character who would like to avoid the cost and hassle of purchasing a shield.
Some enchanted objects have special powers which allow the character to cast spells that are not on their class list. This is a great benefit for characters who have difficulty filling their spell slots due to multiclassing. These magical objects require an Intelligence check (Arcana) and the spell is determined by rolling a table based upon the number of Intelligence points expended.
Other objects with enchanted powers could permit the character's appearance to be changed, or they could even create a completely new one. These items can be especially useful for characters that have been forced to leave their home or in a place that they might not be accepted. An item upgrade that is magical can grant them an invisibility effect, or even make them invisible to anyone other than a selected person.
Utility Items
Utility items are any equipment that does not fall into the categories of Clothing or Armor and come with a range of capabilities. They are not compatible with each other, unlike weapons or armor. Most utility items come with a passive effect that the player can activate when using them. Some have additional abilities that can be activated by pressing a button or activating a skill.
The Flashlight is the most popular utilitarian item. It is used to illuminate the area around it. Other utilities include the Helicopter Hat and Rocket Boots, which allow players to fly in the air while they move, and the Jetpack that allows the player to accelerate in any direction while on the ground. In the Engineering section you can create instantly a variety of utility items, while others are available only through research projects or experimental projects on the Proving Ground.
In addition to the items that are available in the regular inventory, players can also obtain some more powerful utility items by purchasing them from the Atomic Shop and also from seasonal Scoreboard rewards (such as the Shadow Goggles). Certain of these items can be upgraded for more effective use.
The majority of utilitarian items provide the player with a navigational advantage or increase the effectiveness of a particular combat skill. For example, Sharpening stones made by the Weaponsmith increase Power and Ferocity, while Maintenance Oils crafted by the Huntsman boost the power of concentration and healing. Other utility items, such as Writs and Theses created by the Scribe can be used to give the player either a boost in Damage or Condition Damage.
All XCOM soldiers can equip a utilitarian item at the start of the campaign. Eventually, an additional slot can be obtained by acquiring certain types of armor or completing engineering research or experimental projects in the Proving Ground. During the Alien Hunters downloadable content, additional slots can be obtained by equipping a Grenade Launcher. This allows players to use a Smoke Grenade or Bomb while an offensive grenade is kept in the main slot.
