Why You Should Focus On Improving Item Upgrade

WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by 3. A random additional substat is also added to every upgrade.

The upgraded gear typically has a higher trade value, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or a very high stat variation (like eth titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as important for the latter because of the requirement to roll a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any type of armor or weapons. The item used to upgrade the item is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create the enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader at least once every few weeks, to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.

The cost of upgrading will vary based on the current level of the item level upgrade being upgraded however, they will always be cheaper than buying new equipment from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item level upgrade will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items which can be used to level up weapons and tools, armor and other accessories. Players can purchase them through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners for a variety of currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any tool, weapon, or armor. The button will display the preview of an item's next level of upgrade, when there are enough materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the slot of the item and the current item level. For example, weapons will cost more than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Some upgrades give a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain degree, it can be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currencies.

Upgraders for items can be found in many places on the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide an upgrade item discount as well as a chance to acquire a new upgrade recipe. The discount on upgrades increases as more items are upgraded. It can be increased if players complete certain achievements or quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at the beginning unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. Instead, the NPCs that are available to help with upgrades require several methods which is both an improvement but also a drawback.

In Season 3, several new features were added to the upgrade system. Once an upgrade item has been completed to a specific level for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same item level will cost less. This is regardless of whether the items come from an entirely different set of equipment.

The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is decreased, and the discount is affixed to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is reduced as well, but is only available after certain milestones are achieved.

Crests

Players have a number of options for upgrading their equipment in WoW. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to all players for upgrading. Crests are more special and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system, which was introduced in 10.1 and are available in four ranks.

The first thing to remember is that crests can only be used on gear of a specific rank, and that every rank has different requirements for upgrading. The simplest and simplest upgrade process costs just 15 crests while the most complex can require as much as 20 crests depending on the type of equipment that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through finishing tasks at the appropriate level. This could be done by doing outdoor activities or doing dungeons or raids in all difficulties to get lower-level gear or Mythicbosses of raids or dungeons that have a high difficulty for gear in the endgame. The crests can then be exchanged with an item upgrader like Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and routes.

Using these new currencies isn't too difficult however, the system does introduce some modifications to the upgrade process. When a piece of equipment attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it is no longer required to purchase Flightstones. This change allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest level possible on all of their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another notable change is that crests only have one use, so it's important to use them properly. For instance it's best to make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests with the Best item upgrader gear you have available and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you're planning to create. This is particularly applicable to rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character, which will only be able to take advantage of the account-wide discount when all of the slots are filled with high-quality equipment.
