Quiz: How Much Do You Know About Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
The best robot vacuum and mop Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst at Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.
He conducts tests and reviews of cleaning equipment. His focus is on mopping robots and vacuum combinations. These multitaskers are an excellent choice for those who want to take mopping off their to-do list. They feature impressive mapping and obstacle avoidance, and some wash and refill their mopping pads to ensure a hands-free clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model you need to select if you're looking for an automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It is smaller than other options, making it easier to maneuver into tight spaces or under furniture. It features a 220 degree lidar which, when paired with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the most effective navigation and object avoidance I've ever seen in a robot vacuum. It comes with a massive 4600mAh battery which lasts up to 170-minutes, if mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it can last longer in turbo). It will even return to the dock to top up its battery part way through cleaning.
It's very efficient and does a great job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms quickly, and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen and hallways in just one pass. Its 8,000pa suction motor is quick at picking up dirt, crumbs, and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects rugs and the dual side brushes help to clean debris from corners.
The mopping efficiency is less impressive, though not by much. The rotating mop spins fast and uses 2.2lbs to scrub dirt and stain. I've noticed that the front arm protrudes out a little more than other robots. This is useful when getting into tight corners or along baseboards. Those same front arms can also be employed to clean larger pieces of debris, such as broken toys and fallen books.
The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mops and vacuums I've tried. It doesn't produce as loud of a sound while vacuuming or mopping and is quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it has to use a mopping solution that is proprietary and is sold separately. It is easy to install and performs well. However, if you are buying this robot vacuum solely to mop it is important to be aware of this.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It is a powerful machine for cleaning with a variety of features.
The device is equipped with a powerful and impressive cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensors and an RGB camera to map the house and identify furniture and other obstacles. It then uses this information to clean effectively and effectively. This results in an effective, consistent cleaning which is also relatively fast.
In terms of mopping, Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can reach many different surfaces. This includes baseboards, corners and other hard to reach spots. The side brush can be stretched to extend to the floor, close to the walls or other fixtures. The mop pads are washable and can be dried to reduce odors and prevent buildup.
Another feature worth mentioning is the customization options that are available through apps. The Q Revo lets you alter the suction strength and select either a back-and-forth or a random pattern. You can also set the number of passes it will make, which will determine the speed at which the device can move around your home. You can also choose to disable the side brush to prevent damaging rugs and carpets.
It's expensive, but it comes with a lot of smart features. It is important to keep in mind that the device is subject to periodic costs in the form of mopping equipment and regular maintenance. For instance, a brushroll needs to be replaced every six to twelve months or after 300 hours. The filter will need to be cleaned after 150 hours and the mop pad must be replaced every three to six months.
This robotic best automatic vacuum cleaner is a top Amazon rating and includes many physical automation features. The robot vacuum also comes with an energy button that doubles as a 'Clean button' and a Home button to send it home after cleaning. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically emptys the dustbin and refills its water tank for mopping and washes and dry its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
The Shark Matrix Plus will be an ideal option for busy professionals or anyone who needs to keep their home clean without spending too much time doing chores. It has powerful performance, intelligent navigation, and a long battery life that allows you to keep your home clean with little effort.
The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop which means it is able to handle both vacuuming and mopping. The robot has two modules: a dry bin and water reservoir and a separate mopping system with a microfiber pad that snaps in and out of place. Separate modules for vacuuming and mopping may appear a bit dated however, they mean you don't have to worry about changing disposable bags or refilling the water tank.
The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming as well as mopping. Its greatest feature was its precise map of your floorplan which it uses to determine an outline for cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate effortlessly around furniture, rugs and other obstacles. The app allows you to create 'No-Go Zones' or virtual barriers to stop certain areas from being cleaned by a mop.
The Matrix Plus also did a amazing job of picking up hair from pets. It was able to collect many of the hair that sheds from our cats. It even made it into the nooks and crannies of our stairs, where other robots had struggled. It was silent and also had a few pleasant jingles that let you know when it was beginning or finished its work.
The app was too easy and you had to switch the modules every time you changed between mops and vacuuming. The app is not able to store multiple maps. This can be an issue if your house has several floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a great choice for those who want a smart device that can vacuum and mop.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive item in our review. It does however, have certain unique features that make it worth considering. The X1 Omni's most appealing feature is its huge dock which doubles as a charging base and the housing for two 4-liter water tanks, a clean sink as well as a 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically empties.
The base also comes with a set of buttons to control the system. These allow you to manually start a cleaning task and then recall the robot or start the dock's auto-emptying process. Press two buttons to turn off the child lock. This is a nice feature for parents who are concerned about their children playing with the vacuum.
Similar to other best robotic mop and vacuum vacuums, the Omni Omni utilizes its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path, and then avoid them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system can map your home 10 times faster than standard laser detection systems and is four times more precise at recognizing objects.
Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni can occasionally get caught up in an obstacle--such as an electrical cord dangling across a rug--that it becomes stuck and ceases to function until you remove it manually. While this was rare, it was a frustrating experience when it did happen, especially since the X1 Omni does not come with an "stuck" status alert in its app.
Another possible issue is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between vacuuming and mopping modes during the cleaning process. You'll have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't too bad however, mopping pads don't get cleaned or dried between use. This can cause mildew and mold.
On the bright side the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who came up with its modern, sleek base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a huge contrast to the basic black bases of competitors like Roborock or iRobot. It's also a welcome sight for the market that is dominated by boxes.
